Laissa is a character in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.[2]
Biography[]
Laissa is a Rito who lives in Rito Village. She spends her days pacing around the home that she shares with her sister, Bedoli.
When Link initially speaks to her, Laissa asks what he is doing in Rito Village and calls him crazy.[3] If Link expresses confusion, she points out Divine Beast Vah Medoh, which is circling the Village.[4] She explains that it has put Rito Village is disarray.[5] Laissa is so angry about it that she would try to bring it down herself, but she restrains herself since she is not a soldier.[6]
During "The Ancient Rito Song" Shrine Quest, Bedoli directs Link to Laissa to learn the second half of the song.[1] When she hears that Bedoli forgot the rest of it, Laissa remarks that her memory is the worst.[7] Laissa agrees to help Link, but only if he can recite the half that Bedoli taught him.[8]
If Link is able to accurately repeat the first half of the song, Laissa will honor her promise to teach him the second half.[9] The lyrics describe a heart shining upon an incomplete path, but a warm Fire is able to stir its soul.[10] She remarks that the second half is profound.[11]
Afterwards, Link is able to ask Laissa to sing the entire song for him at any time.[12][13] If Link decides to listen, Laissa remarks that being asked to sing on the spot makes her want to do so less, but she agrees nonetheless.[14] Laissa then proceeds to sing the whole song.[15] She comments that the lyrics are deep and make one think.[16]
