Laflat is a character in Breath of the Wild.[3]

Biography[]

Laflat is a Zora who serves as the chief secretary for the Zora royal family.[4] As Link enters Zora's Domain, she can be seen inspecting Mipha's Statue for damage in the Zora's Domain Square.[5]

When Link approaches her, Laflat cautiously asks if he is a Hylian.[6] Despite how he answers, she will then introduce herself and her role to him.[4] After a moment, she asks if Link is curious about Mipha's Statue.[7] If Link claims that he is, Laflat explains that the statue depicts Mipha, the former Zora Champion.[8] According to her, Mipha was both kind and beautiful, and she was capable of healing wounded soldiers.[9] Though they are old now, these soldiers still remember and love Mipha.[10] Laflat tells Link to speak to them if he wants to know more.[11]

After Link speaks with King Dorephan, Laflat can be found near the Throne Room gazing out at Ploymus Mountain. If Link approaches her, she asks him to confirm his identity.[12] When Link wonders why she wants to know, Laflat reveals that Sidon left Zora's Domain shouting that he would stop Divine Beast Vah Ruta with Link the Hylian.[13] She then asks Link if he plans on ascending Ploymus Mountain in search of Shock Arrows.[14]

If Link confirms this, Laflat reveals that she has a request for him.[15] She explains that there is a monster called a Lynel that lives on top of Ploymus Mountain.[16] Laflat needs a Picture of this Lynel or a similar one.[17] She then asks Link if he can get this Picture for her.[18]

If Link accepts her request, Laflat will be relieved they settled things so quickly.[19] She further explains that there is an individual in Zora's Domain who is encouraging others to jump into the East Reservoir Lake from Shatterback Point.[20] Laflat is afraid that, if he continues pressuring people, someone may end up injured.[21] She needs the Picture to show the rest of Zora's Domain how scary the Lynel is, in hopes that hearing of its description will deter them from approaching Ploymus Mountain.[22] When she finishes speaking, the "Lynel Safari" Side Quest will begin.

Once Link has a Picture of a Lynel, he can return to Zora's Domain to show it to Laflat, who asks him how his mission is coming along.[23] When Link informs her that he has a Picture, Laflat requests that he show it to her.[24] Upon seeing the Lynel, she will at first scream in shock, but will quickly compose herself.[25] She believes that anyone who sees this Picture would avoid visiting Ploymus Mountain.[26]

Laflat thanks Link, revealing her plan to tell the children of Zora's Domain about the Lynel.[27] As a reward, she gives Link a pair of Zora Greaves.[28] She informs Link that they were once made by skilled craftsmen on behalf of an ancient Zora king, but they are now fairly commong.[29] After the East Reservoir Lake was finished, the Zora Greaves were made to give to visiting Hylians as a sign of friendship.[30]

However, when the number of Hylians visiting Zora's Domain dwindled, Laflat's father was forced to close his Armor Shop.[2] The pair she gave Link was the last one left in his stock room.[31] She explains that wearing them could help a Hylian Swim like a Zora, which is why they would be wasted on her.[32] After she is done talking, the Side Quest will be completed.

Laflat can be seen in the crowd of Zora congratulating Link after he calms Divine Beast Vah Ruta. Afterwards, she tells Link that all of the Zora, including Mipha, are grateful for his help.[33]
