Knight's Swords are Items in Hyrule Warriors.[2]
Location and Uses[]
Knight's Swords are used by Soldiers and Hylian Captains of Hyrule. They come with a shield and are modified to be used by left-handed Soldiers.[3] Once a Trainee reaches the status of Soldier, they are given a Knight's Sword. In the first Scenario, "The Armies of Ruin," a horde of Enemies attacks Hyrule Castle and the Trainees are told to stay inside.[4][5] Link, a Trainee at the time, disobeys and takes a Knight's Sword to join the fight.[6][7] Link then uses the Knight's Sword to fight until either unlocking the White Sword or obtaining the Master Sword.
Knight's Swords are the base Weapon in the Hylian Sword archetype used by Link.[8] They are unlocked from the start upon starting the "The Armies of Ruin" Scenario.[9] Knight's Swords have a base attack damage of 80, increasing by 10 percent for each star in the Weapon's star rating;[10] Knight's Swords can have a range of 80, 88, 96, 104, 112, and 120 attack damage. They have a one Skill slot available (which can be increased when obtained while using a Weapon with a "Slots+" Skill), and are Light-type Weapons, meaning that the Weapon will increasingly deal more damage while repeatedly attacking a group of Enemies.[11]
Knight's Swords, at their base tier of no stars and Skills, are worth 1,000 Rupees.[1] Each star in the Weapon's star rating increases the value of the Knight's Sword by 100 Rupees, with a max of 1,500 Rupees for a five-star Knight's Sword. Depending on the Skill that the Knight's Sword holds, the value will increase by a differing number of Rupees.
Knight's Swords start with a default of five Regular Attacks, three Combo Attacks, and one Strong Attack. Four more combinations can be unlocked in the Badge Market under the Kokiri Sword I, II, III, and IV Badges. Kokiri Sword I unlocks two more Regular Attacks;[12] Kokiri Sword II unlocks an extra Combo Attack by holding X (Y when use the Zelda Style) after any previous Combo Attack;[13] Kokiri Sword III unlocks one more Regular Attack, bringing the number to nine;[14] Kokiri Sword IV unlocks a new Combo Attack after the fourth Regular Attack.[15] When using the Knight's Swords, the series of Regular Attacks will produce a series of slashes in all different directions, slowly advancing forwards while doing so. The slashes hit in a 180-degree arc in the direction that Link is facing. A Spin Attack can be performed by using a Strong Attack. If the Strong Attack button is tapped, then a weak Spin Attack will be performed. If the button is held and then released, the Spin Attack performed will gain power and have a larger radius.[16] Performing a Regular Attack and then a Combo Attack will have Link slash upwards, rising into the air. While in the air, three Regular Attacks can be performed before falling back to the ground. After the Regular Attacks, a Combo Attack can be used to smash back to the ground, creating a damaging shock wave. If the Combo Attack button is held, a small Spin Attack will be charged, launching Link forwards when used.

Trivia[]
- In the Hyrule Warriors Legends - Collector's Edition Guide, the entry for Link states that he ran into the battlefield during the "The Armies of Ruin" Scenario with his practice weapon.[20] However, this is incorrect as Link took a Knight's Sword into battle, where the practice weapons used by Trainees were shown to be wooden swords and spears.
