Kara Kara Bazaar existed for at least one hundred years prior to the Great Calamity. Its remote location in the desert allowed it to survive. Kara Kara Bazaar acts as a trading post and settlement outside the nearby Gerudo Town. As men are not allowed to enter Gerudo Town, most merchants trade at Kara Kara instead. Link encounters Vilia here and can purchase the Gerudo vai disguise from him. Kara Kara Bazaar has an inn located inside run by Kachoo. It provides beds and soft beds to travelers.

As Kara Kara Bazaar is a trading post, various Gerudo merchants have set up shop at Kara Kara Bazaar to sell wares. Beedle also appears in Kara Kara Bazaar to sell his wares as there are no Stables nearby. Shaillu runs an Arrow shop in the same building as Kara Kara Bazaar's Inn. Unlike the Arrow Specialty Shop in Gerudo Town, she only sells one of each type at a time. Emri runs a stall that sells fresh fruits and Maike sells roasted food and a monster parts.
