Template:Enemy Takkuri is a crow-like bird that appears in several Legend of Zelda games, and is most often just a simple nuisance.

Appearances

Link's Awakening and Oracle of Seasons

The Takkuri originally featured in Link's Awakening as a crow-like bird that would steal Link's rupees. A similar version of Takkuri makes an appearance within Oracle of Seasons.

Majora's Mask

In Majora's Mask, the Takkuri is a rather large bird that flies around the entrance to the Milk Road area of Termina Field.[1] As it sees Link, it will not hesitate to swoop down and attack Link. If Takkuri makes a successful hit, it will steal not Rupees as in Link's Awakening, but items such as an Empty Bottle[2] or even his sword.[3] The bird will then fly away to Clock Town with the item, leaving Link both without that item and unable to kill the bird. If no item is stolen, however, it takes about 15 arrows to kill the Takkuri, and if Link is successful in killing the bird he will receive a Huge Rupee worth 200 Rupees. Defeating the bird is made easier on Epona, where it can't hurt Link. Despite the fact that Like Likes can steal Link's shield, a Takkuri cannot steal it.

The bird works for the Curiosity Shop Guy, and as such, stolen items such as a Empty Bottle[4] and Sword can later be bought back at the Curiosity Shop for a 'good deal'.[5][6][7] The Takkuri can easily be killed or avoided by using the Stone Mask to remain undetected. If Link was to play the Song of Time and reset back to the dawn of the First Day then, he would recover any items lost or stolen by the Takkuri.

The Minish Cap

Takkuri can be found also in The Minish Cap. They steal Rupees, and are similar to crows, but they are red rather then black. They can be found in the Royal Valley, and one Takkuri will even swoop down and steal the Graveyard Key from Link. In order to retrieve the key and progress to the Royal Tomb, Link needs to use the Pegasus Boots and dash into the tree where the Takkuri is roosting.

Phantom Hourglass

Takkuri also appear in Phantom Hourglass, where they perch on trees and fence-posts, waiting to swoop down on Link and steal Rupees from him when he approaches. They are primarily found on islands in the south-west portion of the ocean (i.e., Mercay Island, Isle of Ember, Molida Island).

Spirit Tracks

In Spirit Tracks, Takkuri appear looking exactly the same as they did in Phantom Hourglass. They cry before swooping at Link, and usually give Rupees as rewards for killing them.
