Hourglasses are objects in Tri Force Heroes.

Locations and Uses

Hourglasses are exclusively found in timed Drablands Challenges, granting the Links extra time when collected. Two types of Hourglasses exist: small Hourglasses and large Hourglasses, each granting an additional 5 and 20 seconds respectively. While a Link is wearing the Linebeck's Uniform during the challenge, any Hourglasses collected by that Link will give a 1.5 multiplier boost to the overall time received. Thus, small Hourglasses grant 7.5 seconds while large Hourglasses yield 30 seconds each.

Any time gained with Hourglasses remains with the Links, even if they faint, allowing for considerably more supplemental time to be obtained at the cost of a Fairy if done properly.

Trivia

• The act of receiving more time while wearing the Linebeck's Uniform is a nod to the game in which Linebeck originates, Phantom Hourglass. In said game, Link utilizes the titular Phantom Hourglass to traverse the Temple of the Ocean King with a limited amount of time determined by the Sand of Hours.
• An Hourglass icon also appears as a timer when on Multiplayer when each of the Links are choosing an Area, Challenge, Outfit or Arena.
