Hightail Lizards are common creatures, and can be encountered in warm and temperate areas throughout Hyrule Kingdom.[1] They can be found basking on Trees or rocks, or they can also be startled out of hiding when Grass is cut. They often take a moment to register Link's presence, but flee quickly once they do.[1]
Hightail Lizards can be Cooked with Monster Parts in a Cooking Pot to make a Hasty Elixir, which will temporarily increase Link's speed when consumed.[1] Cooking them with other ingredients, however, will make Dubious Food. The Kochi Dye Shop will also accept them as ingredients for Brown Dye.
Hightail Lizards are required to upgrade the following pieces of Armor at a Great Fairy Fountain:
