Guardian Scouts II are enemies in Breath of the Wild.[1]
Characteristics[]
Hyrule Compendium Entry
The Guardian Scout II is a version of the Guardian Scout that can be found within "A Minor Test of Strength" Ancient Shrines, where Link is tasked with defeating them in order to complete the shrine. They also appear in several other Shrines.
Guardian Scouts II are upgraded versions of the Guardian Scout I, with the added capability of wielding weapons.[2] They are typically equipped with either a Guardian Sword, Guardian Shield, Guardian Spear, or Ancient Battle Axe, which they will drop when defeated. A maximum of 2 weapons/shields can face Link at once.
The attack patterns are as follows, its left side takes priority
- Short sword: Swings upward (no damage) and then downwards (damage)
- Heavy weapon: Winds it back, rotating it a couple times on its handle before suddenly swinging. It repeats the process on the other time.
- Long reach weapon: Stabs forward after winding up.
- If no weapon: Charges laser and fires rapidly. Also does so if Link is out of reach (i.e, at the foot of a staircase when it is at the head)
- Can block attacks with shield, but does not drop shield if guard is broken
A unique, translucent blue Guardian Scout II appears in the Ta'loh Naeg Shrine. Unlike others of its kind, this one is only defeated once Link strikes it with a Charged Attack after he is instructed to do so, regardless of how much damage it has taken prior.
