Goponga Swamp is a location in Link's Awakening.[1][2]
Features and Overview[]
Link's Awakening[]
Goponga Swamp is a swamp located in the northwest section of Koholint Island. It is at the base of the Tal Tal Mountain Range. It is west of Tal Tal Heights, northwest of Koholint Prairie, and north of the Mysterious Woods. The eastern half of what is called Goponga Swamp is the swamp proper, while the western half is normal terrain.
The second dungeon, Bottle Grotto, can be found here. To access the dungeon's entrance, Link must bring along BowWow to eat through several Goponga Flowers guarding the entrance. There is only one non-monster resident of Goponga Swamp, Mr. Write, who lives in the less swampy western half. There is also a phone booth and a cave.
Other Appearances[]
Link's Awakening (Cagiva)[]
In the Link's Awakening manga by Ataru Cagiva, while looking for Tarin in the Mysterious Forest, Link comes across Goponga Swamp. There, he is attacked by Piranhas and blocked by Goponga Flowers. After saving BowWow, Link returns to Goponga Swamp where he is aided by the Chain Chomp, who eventually finds the hidden entrance to the Bottle Grotto.
