The Goddess Collection is a trilogy of books published by Dark Horse, containing artwork and story content pertaining to The Legend of Zelda Series. The collection is comprised of The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia, The Legend of Zelda: Art & Artifacts, and The Legend of Zelda: Encyclopedia.
The first book, Hyrule Historia, was released on December 21, 2011. This was around the same time as The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the series. The book contained the story filled history, aswell as the long-awaited official chronological Timeline of the Zelda series, which up until that point hadn't been confirmed to exist and had long been debated by fans.
There were no new additions to the collection until February of 2017 with the release of the Art & Artifacts book, which contained official artwork and item models from all of the series' main installments. The book also contained interviews with the art directors for some of the games featured.
The final installment in the collection, the Encyclopedia was released in June of 2018, and was a detailed compendium of knowledge and lore dedicated to The Legend of Zelda.
The Canonicity of the Dark Horse books is Debatable, though most fans consider them to be canon
- Each book in the Trilogy also had a Collectors edition released with alternate cover art. Hyrule Historia's Depicts a brown, leather-like cover with the Gate of Time symbol centered on it, The Encyclopedia's depicts the orignal NES Cartridge of The Legend of Zelda, and the Art & Artifacts depicts the hilt and guard of the Master Sword centered on a purple background
- A Fourth book by Dark horse was released on November 20th, 2018 under the title of Creating a Champion (Masterworks in Japan), The book focuses entirely on the development of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, featuring artwork and facts protaining to the game aswell as interviews with the Development Team at Nintendo. Though it is Published by Dark Horse, it is not part of the Goddess Collection.
