The Gerudo Mask is an item in Ocarina of Time.[1]
Location and Uses[]
The Gerudo Mask is one of four special Masks that Link may borrow after selling all of the Masks that he was asked to sell from the Happy Mask Salesman.[2] It serves no significant purpose, merely getting odd reactions from the civilians of Hyrule.[3][4][5][6][7]
While wearing the Mask, it makes people think that Link is a woman and causes Gerudo thieves to be a bit annoyed.[8] Darunia, the "big boss of the Gorons", will respond by saying that he hates Gerudos,[9] most likely because the Gerudo Leader, Ganondorf, had sealed Dodongo's Cavern. Nabooru reacts to the Mask by commenting that it looks like her, but retracts her opinion not long after.[10] If King Zora is spoken to with the Gerudo Mask, he responds that it gives him the chills.[11] Although, King Zora's daughter Princess Ruto will tell Link that he is a "funny guy" when wearing the Mask.[12] Talon will comment that the Mask reminds him of his wife, but will quickly take back his words.[13] If the Dancing Couple is confronted while the Mask if equipped, the man apologizes, as he does not want to look at any other woman.[14] While speaking with Saria, she will remark that it looks "cool", but is also frightening.[15]
