The Gauntlets are a pair of items which boost Link's strength in OoT. There are two varieties: the Silver Gauntlets, and the Golden Gauntlets, the latter serving as a much stronger version.
The Fire Rod, also known as the Magic Rod or Magical Rod in some games, is a recurring weapon in the Series.

Upon arriving at the Spirit Temple, Link is greeted by Sheik, who informs him that in order to restore the Spirit Temple and awaken the Sage, he must return as a child. Similarly, an encarved statue of a cobra in the first room of the Temple hints at a "power of silver" from the past being used in the future. As a child, Link will encounter Nabooru attempting to enter a crawlspace. After brief discussion, Nabooru asks Link for a favor: to enter the crawlspace and retrieve the Silver Gauntlets so that she may infiltrate the rest of the Temple, steal Ganondorf's treasure and impede his plans for domination. In return, she promises to give "something great."
In TLoZ's first quest, the Magical Rod is found in Level 6, Dragon Labyrinth. In the Second Quest, it is found in Level 8, Lion Labyrinth. The Magical Rod shoots projectile beams similar to a Wizzrobe's.

  +
Later when Link reaches the whereabouts of the Treasure Chest containing the Silver Gauntlets, the young hero discovers that Nabooru has been captured by Kotake and Koume, who kidnap her with their black magic. Before she disappears, she warns Link to run. When Link returns for the Master Sword, he dons the Silver Gauntlets after resuming his adult form. With them, he is able to access previously inaccessible parts of the Spirit Temple by pushing a heavy block out of the way. The Silver Gauntlets also allow Link to lift large, gray rocks. Madder rocks, however, cannot be lifted.
The Book of Magic can be used to increase the power of the Magical Rod. After obtaining it, the Magical Rod's attack leaves a fire effect similar to that of the Candle when it makes contact with an enemy or wall, causing more damage. It can be found in Level 8, Lion Labyrinth, in the first quest, and in Level 4, Snake Labyrinth, in the Second Quest.

Golden Gauntlets
+

  +
The Golden Gauntlets are located in the Shadow Barrier room of Ganon's Castle. They are considerably stronger than the Silver Gauntlets, able to lift things that were previously impossible, such as giant, black stone pillars. One of these pillars obstructs the door to the Light Barrier room, forcing Link to use them to clear the path.
In ALttP, Link obtains the Fire Rod in the Skull Woods. It can be used as a weapon to burn enemies or light unreachable torches. The Fire Rod drains magic from the Magic Meter when used. It is especially effective against Gibdos, whose bandages can be burned away to reveal Stalfos.

  +
A second pillar appears outside of Ganon's Castle, in the region formerly housing the Great Fairy of Magic on the path to Hyrule Castle. When removed, the entrance to a Great Fairy's Fountain will be revealed, housing the Great Fairy of Courage. When summoned, she provides him with Enhanced Defense, halving all damage taken.

Four Sword Adventures
In FSA, the Fire Rod can only be found in certain areas. It can be used to defeat enemies and burn grass to reveal hidden items such as Power Gems. This Fire Rod can either shoot fireballs or a continuous cascade of flames. If Link gives the Fire Rod to a Great Fairy to upgrade it, the Fire Rod will act like the Cane of Somaria, creating blocks that can be used as platforms. If Link uses the Fire Rod again, the block will explode, sending fire in four directions.

Dark Link also uses the Fire Rod in some levels.

A Link Between Worlds
In ALBW, the Fire Rod can be rented from Ravio for 100 Rupees. Later on, it can be purchased for 1200 Rupees. It drains the Energy Gauge when used. The Fire Rod shoots a pillar of fire that moves in a straight line, which is capable of damaging even airborne enemies. Because it travels forward and most enemies flinch backwards, the fire pillar is often capable of hitting the same enemy more than once. The Fire Rod can also be used to melt ice, including ice-based enemies, which can be defeated with one hit of the Rod.

By finding 10 Maiamais, Link can give the Fire Rod to Mother Maiamai in order to upgrade it to the Nice Fire Rod. This upgraded version produces a much taller and wider pilar of flames, travels a larger distance, and deals more damage.

Breath of the Wild
Weapons in Breath of the Wild

In BotW, Fire Rods are expendable weapons. When swung, they fire out large fireballs that bounce around wildly, setting fire to anything the balls touch. In areas with strong gusts of wind, these fireballs can be redirected by the wind's current.Verify By charging an attack, Link can launch a circular barrage of fireballs.

As Fire Rods are fragile, they will break if they directly hit a solid object. A Fire Rod can be found west of Hopper Pond, guarded inside a Bokoblin encampment.

In HW, the Magic Rod is a class of weapon used by Link. It is associated with Fire. It can shoot wide-ranged projectiles and conjure pillars of flames to juggle enemies. The Rod is also capable of changing shape, such as forming a flamethrower, transforming into a larger staff to emit flame-based energy beams, and transforming into a fiery battleaxe.
+
In HW, the Gauntlet is a class of Weapon used by Link. It is associated with Lightning. The Gauntlet is paired with a version of the Ball and Chain as a weapon, which is powerfully swung and tossed to attack enemies. The Gauntlet also enables Link to lift heavy objects including Pots, Bomb Flowers, and even enemies. He is also capable of summoning large pillars of stone (identical to the ones that the Golden Gauntlets are able to lift in Ocarina of Time) to slam or swing into enemies as a combo attack. Due to its elemental nature, the Gauntlet also holds an electrical charge which can be used to attack enemies with or charge the Ball and Chain.

Variations
An 8-Bit version of the Magical Rod from The Legend of Zelda, called the 8-Bit Magical Rod, appears as the Lv.★ form of Lana's Spear. It was added to the game with the Twilight Princess Pack DLC in Hyrule Warriors.

  +
The default Gauntlet are the Silver Gauntlets. It is paired with the Ball and Chain from TP.

  +
The second form of the Gauntlet are the Golden Gauntlets. It is paired with a golden, spiked version of the Ball and Chain.
Variations
The default Magic Rod is the Fire Rod. It resembles the Fire Rods of later game appearances like A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening.

  +
The third form of the Gauntlet are the Power Gloves. It is paired with a Chain Chomp as its Ball and Chain, which bites into enemies and the ground as it is thrown.
The second form of the Magic Rod is the Prism Rod.

The third form of the Magic Rod is the Magical Rod. It more closely resembles the Magic Rod from The Legend of Zelda.
+
The Lv.★ form of the Gauntlet is the 8-Bit Power Bracelet which is only available for Hyrule Warriors. Its appearance is based on the 8-bit Power Bracelet from TLoZ. The Gauntlets of the 8-Bit Power Bracelet are also accessorized with the 8-bit Raft from The Legend of Zelda.

The Lv.★ form of the Magic Rod is the 8-Bit Candle but is not available for Hyrule Warriors Legends. Its appearance is based on the 8-bit Candle from The Legend of Zelda.
+
The fourth form of the Gauntlet is the Burning Gloves which associate with both the Elements of Fire and Lightning from Hyrule Warriors Legends.

Link slams the iron ball into the ground, then jumps into the air as he pulls the chain, causing the world to briefly flip upside-down. The world is then flipped back into place and damages enemies nearby. This attack damages a moderate range in all directions around Link.
Link points the Magic Rod skyward which opens, releasing a fiery dragon that corkscrews ahead for a moderate distance. The attack can hit enemies behind Link as the dragon coils behind him.

[[|]] The Gauntlets are a pair of items which boost Link's strength in Ocarina of Time.[1] There are two varieties: the Silver Gauntlets, and the Golden Gauntlets, the latter serving as a much stronger version.

Location and Uses

Silver Gauntlets

OoT3D Silver Gauntlets Icon Upon arriving at the Spirit Temple, Link is greeted by Sheik, who informs him that in order to restore the Spirit Temple and awaken the Sage, he must return as a child.[2] Similarly, an encarved statue of a cobra in the first room of the Temple hints at a "power of silver" from the past being used in the future.[3] As a child, Link will encounter Nabooru attempting to enter a crawlspace. After brief discussion, Nabooru asks Link for a favor: to enter the crawlspace and retrieve the Silver Gauntlets so that she may infiltrate the rest of the Temple, steal Ganondorf's treasure and impede his plans for domination.[4] In return, she promises to give "something great."[5]

Later when Link reaches the whereabouts of the Treasure Chest containing the Silver Gauntlets, the young hero discovers that Nabooru has been captured by Kotake and Koume, who kidnap her with their black magic. Before she disappears, she warns Link to run.[6] When Link returns for the Master Sword, he dons the Silver Gauntlets after resuming his adult form. With them, he is able to access previously inaccessible parts of the Spirit Temple by pushing a heavy block out of the way. The Silver Gauntlets also allow Link to lift large, gray rocks. Madder rocks, however, cannot be lifted.

Golden Gauntlets

OoT3D Golden Gauntlets Icon The Golden Gauntlets are located in the Shadow Barrier room of Ganon's Castle. They are considerably stronger than the Silver Gauntlets,[7] able to lift things that were previously impossible, such as giant, black stone pillars. One of these pillars obstructs the door to the Light Barrier room, forcing Link to use them to clear the path.

A second pillar appears outside of Ganon's Castle, in the region formerly housing the Great Fairy of Magic on the path to Hyrule Castle. When removed, the entrance to a Great Fairy's Fountain will be revealed, housing the Great Fairy of Courage. When summoned, she provides him with Enhanced Defense,[8] halving all damage taken.[9]

In Hyrule Warriors, the Gauntlet is a class of Weapon used by Link.

Variations

The default Gauntlet are the Silver Gauntlets. It is paired with the Ball and Chain from Twilight Princess.

The second form of the Gauntlet are the Golden Gauntlets. It is paired with a golden, spiked version of the Ball and Chain.

The third form of the Gauntlet are the Power Gloves. It is paired with a Chain Chomp as its Ball and Chain, which bites into enemies and the ground as it is thrown.

The Lv.★ form of the Gauntlet is the 8-Bit Power Bracelet which is only available for Hyrule Warriors. Its appearance is based on the 8-bit Power Bracelet from The Legend of Zelda. The Gauntlets of the 8-Bit Power Bracelet are also accessorized with the 8-bit Raft from The Legend of Zelda.

The fourth form of the Gauntlet is the Burning Gloves which associate with both the Elements of Fire and Lightning from Hyrule Warriors Legends.
