'''''Hyrule Warriors''''' is an upcoming game for the [[Wii U]] releasing in 2014. It combines the action of {{wp|Tecmo Koei}}'s ''{{wp|Dynasty Warriors}}'' series with the world of ''[[The Legend of Zelda (Series)|The Legend of Zelda]]'', and will be developed by [[Nintendo]] and Tecmo Koei.

  +
Long ago, a hero wearing a green tunic fought against the forces of evil that were after the Triforce, an ancient and powerful relic. The hero broke the evil's spirit into four pieces, sending three pieces off into the depths of space-time, and sealing the fourth piece at the entrance to the Temple with the Master Sword. Ever since then, a sorceress has watched over the balance of the Triforce.

  +
One day, [[Cia]], the sorceress who was tasked with maintaining the balance of the Triforce, became infatuated with [[Link]], a young Hyrulean soldier. Those feelings transformed into jealousy towards [[Princess Zelda|Zelda]], and eventually corrupted Cia. With Zelda gone missing, it is up to Link to fight Cia and find the young queen.<ref name=JPWebsite>{{cite web |url= http://www.gamecity.ne.jp/zelda/introduction |title= ゼルダ無双 |site= Official Zelda Musou Website}}</ref>
Hello, Silver12Heart! First of all, thank you for all the images you have recently uploaded about ''Phantom Hourglass''. However, some of the ones you've added are duplicate files. For example, the [[Ghost Ship]] image (seen [[:File:Ghost1.jpg|here]]) was already on the wiki, although had a lesser quality than the one you uploaded. If you want to upload a better version of an image that already exists, simply click the "Upload a new version of this file" link that can be found at the bottom of the image (just make sure the file extension matches the image you're trying to replace). I've already done it for you, but just try to check if an image you want to upload already exists, alright? ;) Another one is [[:File:PH GossipStone01.png|this image]] you uploaded. We already have a [[:File:Gossip Stone PH.png|transparent version]] of such image, so I will be deleting it shortly.

  +
==Gameplay==
Anyway, once again, thanks for helping us out on the PH images, since we really need higher-quality versions of those. Hope you stick around! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. :) Happy editing! [[User:Dany36|Dany36]] 23:11, 10 January 2011 (EST)

The gameplay is very similar to Tecmo Koei's ''Dynasty Warriors'' series of video games, but instead uses the setting and characters from [[Nintendo]]'s [[The Legend of Zelda (Series)|''Zelda'' series]]. The player controls various characters throughout the game, including Link and [[Impa]]. While there is a far stronger emphasis on combat than other games in the ''Zelda'' series, the player will still use common items from prior games in the series, such as [[Sword]]s, [[Bomb]]s and the [[Fire Rod]] as weapons. Many of Link's signature moves appear in the new combat system, such as the [[Spin Attack]] which takes the form of a Musou Attack, a special attack that renders the user invincible for the duration. Link is also seen using various sword and shields, including the [[Master Sword]] and [[Hylian Shield]]. Discovering new items and opening [[Treasure Chest|Chests]] is also present in the game, although the full extent of these is unknown.

  +
Unlike most normal ''Zelda'' games, vast hordes of weaker enemies like [[Bokoblin]]s are set to appear, often alongside greater foes such as [[King Dodongo]], encouraging the player to think tactically. The player character will also fight alongside regular [[Soldier]]s and other playable characters for the first time in the series. The game will also feature multiple locations throughout Hyrule that will function as battlefields.
:Hello, Dany36. First I must note, I have no idea if this is the way I should replying to your message. I'm mostly new to the site, and still figuring things out. I'm very happy to be apart of Zelda Wiki, and that I can contribute something worth while.

  +
The player can collect [[Rupees]] and other useful items to upgrade weapons and craft badges, which can then be used to bolster each character’s abilities. Additional game progression is evident in the reveal trailer: early on, Link only has 3 [[Heart Container]]s, a regular Sword, and a regular Shield. Later in the video, Link is seen wielding the Master Sword and a Hylian Shield, as well as owning 10 Heart Containers. There will be multiple weapons, such as Link's Sword and Shield combo which is oriented around speed and heavier weapons that rely on power.
:About the Ghost Ship image I uploaded, I know about replacing, but was unaware that there was already a copy. I'll be making more of an effort to check that first. Though the Gossip Stone thing was for more examples then anything else.

  +
The game will also feature both online and local co-op mode, with local co-op featuring one player using the Gamepad as their screen. The Wii U Pro Controller and Wii Remote with Nunchuk control styles will be available options for both multiplayer and single player. In single-player, the Gamepad functions as a sub-menu, akin to how it was used in {{TWWHD}}.
:If you do get this, please tell me. Or tell me how I should be trying to respond. xD

===Playable Characters===
: [[User:Silver12Heart|Silver12Heart]] 24:25, 11 January 2011 (EST)

  +
For the first time in the series, multiple playable characters with fully unique moves and weapons are playable. These are set to be unlocked as the player progresses through the story:

  +
*'''[[Link]]''': A strong young soldier in Hyrule's Army, who possesses the Triforce of Courage. He is kind, can speak with fairies, and has a strong sense of justice. His fighting style revolves around swordplay and fast magical weapons like the [[Magic Rod]].
::It's ok, at least you're letting us know that you're putting an effort in what you're doing. Plus, you're still new and mistakes are bound to be made, so that's why we're here to guide you! Anyway, if you have any more doubts about how to place images on pages or how to upload them, then I recommend [[Help:Images|this page]]. It's pretty well-made and I think it covers pretty much everything you need to know about images on a wiki. :)

  +
*'''[[Impa]]''': Attendant and vassal of the Zelda. She is the leader of a [[Sheikah|family]] charged with supporting Hyrule's royal family from the shadows, and is immensely loyal to Zelda. She fights with a giant longsword, which she uses back-handed. Her fighting style consists of quick and precise attacks as well manipulating water to take the shape of weapons.
  +
*'''[[Princess Zelda|Zelda]]''': The newly crowned monarch of Hyrule,{{fact}} who leads her army against Cia's. She is very dignified and beautiful. She uses a rapier and a bow in battle as well as having a unique mechanic where she summons orbs of light in order to enhance her attacks.
  +
*'''[[Midna]]''': The Twilight Princess, who has wandered away from her family for unknown reasons. Although she is smart and kind, she has a tendency to look down on others and get into trouble because of her sharp tongue. She was turned into her current form by Cia{{fact}} and thus seeks to return to her normal form. In battle she uses magic and can summon Twilit Wolves in order to ride or use as attack beasts.
  +
*'''[[Lana]]''': A witch armed with a book of spells.
  +
*'''[[Agitha]]''': The self-proclaimed princess of the insect kingdom.

''Hyrule Warriors'' was announced on December 18, 2013, on a Nintendo Direct. The game was announced as a collaboration with Tecmo Koei. As such, [[Nintendo]] president [[Satoru Iwata]] stated that the game would not be the next main series installment of ''The Legend of Zelda'' series, but rather a spinoff from the ''Dynasty Warriors'' series. The game, however, is still being produced by long-time ''Zelda'' developer [[Eiji Aonuma]].<ref>{{Cite web| url=http://www.ibtimes.com/new-zelda-game-coming-wii-u-hyrule-warriors-release-date-2014-or-2015-1515900 | title=New 'Zelda' Game Coming To Wii U: 'Hyrule Warriors' Release Date In 2014 Or 2015? | site= International Business Times}}</ref> The game is scheduled for release in Japan on August 14, 2014.

===Timeline Placement===
::Oh, and ONE LAST THING (...for now! XD) I noticed your edit to the [[Tetra]] article. Instead of writing out the whole <nowiki>[[Phantom Hourglass]]</nowiki> ordeal, it'd be much easier to add it using the Game Formatting Templates. So instead of writing all of that out, you'd just type <nowiki>{{subst:PH}}</nowiki>, which results in this:

[[Eiji Aonuma]] has stated that ''Hyrule Warriors'' exists as a "separate dimension" and is not part of the main series.<ref>{{Cite web|quote=Within the Zelda canon, there is the timeline, but there has always been the sense of the main story and kind of a side story. Hey Silver12Heart!! AWESOME job getting all those ''Phantom Hourglass'' images!! They're really great! You can help categorize these images by which game they're from by using the [[:Template:FileGame|FileGame template]]. To use the FileGame template for ''Phantom Hourglass'' images, just type <nowiki>{{FileGame|PH}}</nowiki> in the image summary when you upload them. Keep up the great work, we hope you stay at ZeldaWiki.org for a long time to come! {{:User:Embyr 75/sig}} 02:51, 12 January 2011 (EST)

:Glad I could help out. I'm glad I could get some images for the game, though I hope other people can handel doing the text parts. Can't say I like typing as much as the visuals. I'll add that template from now on. Sorry I didn't do it sooner. Would there be a way to add it to the images i've already added? I can only think of doing the "up-loading new version", and just do it then.

::I'd encourage you to add a ''tiny'' description for your images, or state where you took them. It only takes you 3 seconds, but saves readers a bunch of time. It doesn't really matter how eloquent it is right now because eventually someone else will fix it. ::::Thank you. :) I'm just trying to add the content the way it should be done. Though when I add a bulk of images, the summary goes on all of them. So I just go back to them and add in the correct summary later. I do have a question though about the site, when you go to the Recent Changes page, it has numbers in green or red. What do those numbers represent?

::::[[User:Silver12Heart|Silver12Heart]] 14:37, 17 January 2011 (EST)

:::::Those numbers are how many characters have been added (in green) or subtracted (in red) in the last edit. So for example, if there's a green (+1), it means someone added just one character (or that the number of characters subtracted and the number added balance out to +1). ...Did I explain that so it made any sense at all? XD {{:User:Embyr 75/sig}} 15:02, 17 January 2011 (EST)

::::::Yes, that makes complete sense. ^_^ I was unsure if it was a ranking number of the content that was added/removed, or actually a number representing the content itself. Or something else I just wasn't thinking off.

== A Question To Those Who Are Knowledgeable ==

I tried to upload a newer version of an image that is sitting in the Image Requests page. After clicking the upload button, I came to a page that said I didn't have permistion to do this. The reason being the following:

"The title "File:Bluetwinjuggler.jpg" has been banned from creation. It matches the following blacklist entry: .*[Uu][\W_\.,]*[Gg][\W_\.,]*[Gg].*### ugg"

So, what have I run into, and how can I avoid this?

==Nice job with transparencies==

I just came by to compliment your amazing renders. The [[:File:MM IceKeese.png|Ice Keese]] and [[:File:Freezard TP 3.png|Freezard]] images look particularly difficult to work with, yet you managed to pull them off. I'd love to see more of your work in the future {{:User:Abdullah/sig}} 08:19, 12 April 2011 (EDT)

:I second that. Honestly, I don't even know if I could do that myself. I'm impressed! Keep up the good work! {{:User:Hylian King/sig}} 08:23, 12 April 2011 (EDT)

::Thank you guys, that means a lot. :) I very much enjoy doing this kind of stuff. I wish I could only capture the quality of the raw pictures myself, but whom ever does get them, I thank them for the size of the image. I'm not sure if this is just the basic, or if people may not know, but using Masks to create all these transparences does make it easier and better.

::Though, would either of you know the solution of the problem I ran into months back? Its just about this section, and is about the Blue Twin Juggler.

::[[User:Silver12Heart|Silver12Heart]] 12:40, 12 April 2011 (ADT)

:::Masks, eh? I'm still getting used to those. It's one of those things you don't think you need till you try it out.

:::Anyway, sorry about the file name issue. We had a spammer a while back that liked to use "Ugg" in page titles, so we blocked the phrase. He's been gone for a while, though, so [[User:Cipriano|Cipriano]] fixed the problem for you. Enjoy =D {{:User:Abdullah/sig}} 09:01, 13 April 2011 (EDT)

==Uploading Files==

I see that you are manually inputting the '''FileInfo''' template when uploading files. I'm not sure if you know this, but if you go down and check "Include the FileInfo template" under the "Upload Options" section (should be checked by default), you should get a properly formatted template. Just put the summary in the summary, source in the source and select the options in the dropdown menus. {{:User:Abdullah/sig}} 09:49, 17 April 2011 (EDT)

Hullo, Silver12Heart!! As always, thank you so much for always taking care of transparency under Image Requests... That page would be full of unfinished images if it weren't for you. Just an "fyi", it's not necessary to keep the shadows that are under the characters in the original image, such as [[:File:MM Lulu2.png|this]], so it's ok to leave that off. Continue your awesome work! [[User:Dany36|Dany36]] 23:57, 23 July 2011 (EDT)

Template:Future game Template:Game Hyrule Warriors is an upcoming game for the Wii U releasing in 2014. It combines the action of Tecmo Koei's Dynasty Warriors series with the world of The Legend of Zelda, and will be developed by Nintendo and Tecmo Koei.

Story

Long ago, a hero wearing a green tunic fought against the forces of evil that were after the Triforce, an ancient and powerful relic. The hero broke the evil's spirit into four pieces, sending three pieces off into the depths of space-time, and sealing the fourth piece at the entrance to the Temple with the Master Sword. Ever since then, a sorceress has watched over the balance of the Triforce.

One day, Cia, the sorceress who was tasked with maintaining the balance of the Triforce, became infatuated with Link, a young Hyrulean soldier. Those feelings transformed into jealousy towards Zelda, and eventually corrupted Cia. With Zelda gone missing, it is up to Link to fight Cia and find the young queen.[1]

Gameplay

The gameplay is very similar to Tecmo Koei's Dynasty Warriors series of video games, but instead uses the setting and characters from Nintendo's Zelda series. The player controls various characters throughout the game, including Link and Impa. While there is a far stronger emphasis on combat than other games in the Zelda series, the player will still use common items from prior games in the series, such as Swords, Bombs and the Fire Rod as weapons. Many of Link's signature moves appear in the new combat system, such as the Spin Attack which takes the form of a Musou Attack, a special attack that renders the user invincible for the duration. Link is also seen using various sword and shields, including the Master Sword and Hylian Shield. Discovering new items and opening Chests is also present in the game, although the full extent of these is unknown.

Unlike most normal Zelda games, vast hordes of weaker enemies like Bokoblins are set to appear, often alongside greater foes such as King Dodongo, encouraging the player to think tactically. The player character will also fight alongside regular Soldiers and other playable characters for the first time in the series. The game will also feature multiple locations throughout Hyrule that will function as battlefields.

The player can collect Rupees and other useful items to upgrade weapons and craft badges, which can then be used to bolster each character’s abilities. Additional game progression is evident in the reveal trailer: early on, Link only has 3 Heart Containers, a regular Sword, and a regular Shield. Later in the video, Link is seen wielding the Master Sword and a Hylian Shield, as well as owning 10 Heart Containers. There will be multiple weapons, such as Link's Sword and Shield combo which is oriented around speed and heavier weapons that rely on power.

The game will also feature both online and local co-op mode, with local co-op featuring one player using the Gamepad as their screen. The Wii U Pro Controller and Wii Remote with Nunchuk control styles will be available options for both multiplayer and single player. In single-player, the Gamepad functions as a sub-menu, akin to how it was used in The Wind Waker HD.

Playable Characters

For the first time in the series, multiple playable characters with fully unique moves and weapons are playable. These are set to be unlocked as the player progresses through the story:

  • Link: A strong young soldier in Hyrule's Army, who possesses the Triforce of Courage. He is kind, can speak with fairies, and has a strong sense of justice. His fighting style revolves around swordplay and fast magical weapons like the Magic Rod.
  • Impa: Attendant and vassal of the Zelda. She is the leader of a family charged with supporting Hyrule's royal family from the shadows, and is immensely loyal to Zelda. She fights with a giant longsword, which she uses back-handed. Her fighting style consists of quick and precise attacks as well manipulating water to take the shape of weapons.
  • Zelda: The newly crowned monarch of Hyrule,[citation needed] who leads her army against Cia's. She is very dignified and beautiful. She uses a rapier and a bow in battle as well as having a unique mechanic where she summons orbs of light in order to enhance her attacks.
  • Midna: The Twilight Princess, who has wandered away from her family for unknown reasons. Although she is smart and kind, she has a tendency to look down on others and get into trouble because of her sharp tongue. She was turned into her current form by Cia[citation needed] and thus seeks to return to her normal form. In battle she uses magic and can summon Twilit Wolves in order to ride or use as attack beasts.
  • Lana: A witch armed with a book of spells.
  • Agitha: The self-proclaimed princess of the insect kingdom.

Game Information

Development

Hyrule Warriors was announced on December 18, 2013, on a Nintendo Direct. The game was announced as a collaboration with Tecmo Koei. As such, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata stated that the game would not be the next main series installment of The Legend of Zelda series, but rather a spinoff from the Dynasty Warriors series. The game, however, is still being produced by long-time Zelda developer Eiji Aonuma.[2] The game is scheduled for release in Japan on August 14, 2014.

Timeline Placement

Eiji Aonuma has stated that Hyrule Warriors exists as a "separate dimension" and is not part of the main series.[3] However, he goes on to suggest that while the game does not slot into any particular part of the timeline, it has links to different periods of the timeline,[4] and that characters have been "brought together".[5] He said that he had been thinking of it as being similar to The Avengers.[6]
