Furnaces are Objects in Breath of the Wild.[1]

Location and Uses

Furnaces are found outside the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab and the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab. They can be lit with a Blue Flame, which will then power the Guidance Stones inside of the labs.[2][3] At the beginning of the game, both Furnaces will be unlit.

When Link arrives at the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab, Symin will notice that his Sheikah Slate is missing its basic Runes.[4] Purah offers to restore them,[5] but only if Link lights the Furnace outside and activates the lab's Guidance Stone.[6][2] Once Link does this, the Travel Gate for the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab will be activated.[7] Inside, Purah points out that the Guidance Stone is reacting to the Blue Flame.[8]

At the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab, Robbie offers to provide Link Ancient Soldier Gear, which is made by the Ancient Oven.[9] However, since the Furnace outside is unlit, the Blue Flame needs to be retrieved from Tumlea Heights.[10] When Link successfully lights the Furnace, the Travel Gate outside of the lab will be activated.[11] Robbie shares his excitement that the Ancient Oven is working once again, believing it was due to the power of his love.[12] Link then informs him that he lit the Furnace, which Robbie thanks him for.[13]
