The flesh-eating undead mummified corpses know as Gibdo have been around since the very first The Legend of Zelda game, and have since appeared in several other Zelda's, like A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask In The Legend of Zelda and A Link to the Past, they'd just walk around, doing a decent bit of damage if one touches you. In A Link to the Past, they have quite a lot of stamina, too, though they can easily be destroyed with the Fire Rod.

A Gibdo in Ocarina of Time

In Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, the Gibdo is an enemy very similar to the ReDead being similar in movement, figure and moans. If it crosses eyes with Link, it will freeze him, jump onto his back and start biting around his neck. In Ocarina of Time the Sun's Song will freeze them for some time. In Majora's Mask, one way to get past a Gibdo unnoticed is to have the Gibdo Mask. If the player hits them with a Fire Arrow it will burn off their bandages to reveal a ReDead. This only works in Majora's Mask though. Both ReDeads and Gibdos are also unable to harm Goron or Deku Scrub forms, as the former is too large and the latter is too small. However, both are still vunerable to paralysis (Majora's Mask only).

In The Minish Cap, the Gibdo was similar to its Ocarina of Time counterpart, except that it couldn't freeze you or be frozen. You could kill them by torching them with the Flame Lantern, upon they would turn into Stalfos.

Although the enemies in Twilight Princess' Arbiter's Grounds look like Gibdos, they are actually ReDeads.
