Location and Uses
Hyrule Compendium Entry
Forest Dweller's Shields are Shields made by Koroks specifically for Hylians to use. They're only found in three locations in and around the Great Hyrule Forest, though an additional one can be found in a Treasure Chest at Floria Falls. They're made from the finest hard wood in the Korok Forest, making them deceivingly sturdy.
As part of "The Test of Wood" Shrine Quest, Damia will give Link a Forest Dweller's Shield, Forest Dweller's Sword, and Forest Dweller's Bow he must use to fight his way to the Maag Halan Shrine. If he switches out or breaks any of these items, the trial must be restarted.
Being made of wood, Forest Dweller's Shields will burn to a crisp if exposed to Fire or a Scorching Climate. If Link drops them in the water, they will float. They also won't attract Lightning like a metal shield would.
