The Flameblade is an item from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It is an elemental sword filled with the flame power causing fire damage to enemies. Link can also use it to prepare food by roasting ingredients, or to inflame objects such as torches, grass or wood into campfires. However, after 4 consecutive attacks, the sword's fire power will be exhausted, and Link will have to refrain from swinging for a brief moment to allow the sword to recharge. Due to the heat it produces, an equipped flameblade can melt nearby ice blocks and raise the air temperature around Link, protecting him from moderately cold temperatures, though extreme cold will require another form of protection. As with the other elemental weapons in Breath of the Wild it's high durability and magical effects make it a good backup to the Master Sword during it's recharge period.
The concept of the Flameblade resembles the flaming sword-like torches wielded by Torch Phantoms in Spirit Tracks as it is a single-handed flaming sword that can be wielded in conjunction with a shield.
