The Fierce Deity Sword is a recurring Item in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][name reference needed]

Location and Uses[]

Majora's Mask[]

When Link equips the infamous Fierce Deity's Mask in Majora's Mask to become Fierce Deity Link, the Hero of Time manifests the Fierce Deity Sword—a very powerful blade that is able to focus Link's magical power into a disk of light and release it during an attack while Z-Targeting. As well as possessing this useful ability, the Fierce Deity Sword inflicts great physical damage — equal to that of the Great Fairy's Sword. If Link strikes an enemy while Targeting and has any magic remaining, the enemy will take damage both from the Sword itself and from the energy blast, for a grand total of eight times the destructive power of the Kokiri Sword. However, this doesn't work on normal enemies because the sword was only ever intended to be used against Bosses. These enemies will resist the secondary damage from the energy disk because its ability to break through the defenses were not programmed into regular foes. The energy beams can, however, be used against objects (i.e. Gossip Stones, Signs, etc.). Due to its double helix shape, it is sometimes referred to as the "Double Helix Sword" or "Double Helix Blade." It is indeed one of the strongest Swords in The Legend of Zelda series.

Breath of the Wild[]

The Fierce Deity Sword appears in Breath of the Wild as an exclusive amiibo Item. It has a rare chance of appearing in a Treasure Chest after scanning the Majora's Mask Link amiibo with the amiibo Rune, but only after Link has completed at least one of the Divine Beasts. It functions as a two-handed Weapon and its description refers to it as a "peculiar greatsword" allegedly used by a hero from a world in which the moon threatened to fall. The Fierce Deity Sword slashes wildly in battle as if possessed by a fierce deity, as suggested by its name.[1] It can be wielded by Link even when he is not wearing the Fierce Deity Set acquired using the same amiibo.

Link can acquire replacements of the Fierce Deity Sword by using the amiibo again. Like other two-handed Weapons, it can be thrown and can also be displayed on the Weapon Mount in Link's House. It has a base attack power of 60, making it equal to the Master Sword's full Power, but its durability is at a 35, making it inferior to the Master Sword in that aspect.

The Fierce Deity Sword is made of metal, and it will therefore conduct Electricity and attract Lightning if it is equipped during a Thunderstorm. It will sink if dropped in Water, but due to its magnetic nature, it can be picked up using the Magnesis Rune. It also will not burn if exposed to Fire or a Scorching Climate.
