Farore's Wind is a recurring Spell in The Legend of Zelda series.[1]

Location and Uses[]

Ocarina of Time[]

In Ocarina of Time, Farore's Wind is received from the Great Fairy of Magic in Zora's Fountain,[2] hidden behind a destructible wall behind Lord Jabu-Jabu. It can only be cast inside dungeons that have Maps, as it allows Link to return to the entry point of that dungeon's room from which it was cast.[3] When used thereafter, Link is given the option to return to that Warp point, or to dispel it. Either way, Link will then be able to cast another Spell. With each creation of a Warp point, Link must spend 6 Magic Power. If he has no Magic Power, he will be unable to cast Farore's Wind.

After being cast, Link can use Farore's Wind to return to the dungeon it was cast in from any other location. However, Link as an adult is unable to return to Warp points created by Farore's Wind while Link was a child, and vice-versa.

In the Super Smash Bros. series, Farore's Wind serves as Zelda's recovery move. When performed, a yellow loop surrounds Zelda, making her disappear afterwards. She then reappears in the direction held on the Control Stick, or up into the air if the Control Stick is not moved.[4] This move is also capable of going through solid ground, allowing Zelda to use it anywhere. The yellow loop that appears around Zelda is capable of damaging opponents that touch it. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, unlike Super Smash Bros. Melee, when Zelda reappears, Farore's Wind creates a small explosion, dealing damage to any nearby opponent.

Hyrule Warriors[]

In Hyrule Warriors, Farore's Wind appears as an Assist Badge in the Bazaar's Badge Market. When purchased for a Warrior, it decreases the time needed to capture a Keep for that particular Warrior.[5] It appears in three iterative Badge qualities: bronze, silver and gold; each providing a stronger effect than the one prior.

One of the attacks that Zelda can execute with her Rapier is summoning a great flurry of air, reminiscent of Farore's Wind. This, joined with her two other attacks resembling Din's Fire and Nayru's Love, appears to be a reference to Farore's Wind.
