Throughout The Legend of Zelda series, specifically in Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and The Wind Waker, constellations have played a somewhat minor role, but nonetheless have been present in the night sky and represented by several island archipelagos in The Wind Waker.

Apparent Constellations[]

Big Dipper[]

The Big Dipper, an asterism in the constellation Ursa Major, only makes two appearances, represented in an island archipelago in The Wind Waker, the Seven-Star Isles, and is also visible in the sky at night.

Cassiopeia[]

Cassiopeia is one of the 88 modern constellations in the night sky, this one of which is shaped as a famous "W", vaguely outlining the figure of a vain mythological queen. In Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and The Wind Waker, the constellation can be found in the sky at night. In The Wind Waker, Link may hear about this particluar constellation if he peers at it at night through his Telescope on Windfall Island alongside Kamo, a man who is fascinated with the moon. The Five-Star Isles, the small archipelago at the furthest southeast point of the Great Sea, is shaped like the constellation, as well. Furthermore, in Majora's Mask, the constellation can be seen in the form of rocks on a wall of Termina Field.

Orion[]

Orion one of the 88 modern constellations in the night sky which depicts a valiant hunter wielding a bow or sword, depending on the cultural or mythological background surrounding Orion's tale. Orion can be seen in the night sky of Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and The Wind Waker, the latter of which also promotes the constellation's stars via an island on the Great Sea, the Star Belt Archipelago, located to the far east of the Great Sea. The pirate Tetra keeps a framed picture of the Orion Constellation on her desk in her cabin.
