Please feel free to ask me anything on my talk page! Whether it's about one of my edits, a page I started, a page you want me to create, my Timeline Theory, a general question, or you just want to get to know me, I'll be more than happy to answer. Also, I've recently taken a liking to designing userboxes. If you'd like me to make one in particular, feel free to ask! Alter  {T C B H }

Good job!

I know that you hate my guts, but I just really wanted to compliment on your good work on the Insect Cavern article. It looks like you used my same formatting I've used for the Link's Awakening dungeon articles, which I really think should be used for some of the other dungeon articles we have as well. It is very good work indeed. The Goron Moron 05:10, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Thank you! I posted my reply on your talk page. (I'm putting this here so it doesn't look like I ignored you. ;) Alter  {T C B H } 17:03, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

User Talk Pages

Hey Alter, just a note about speaking on other peoples talk pages. Though I know you mean to help, it is a general courtesy not to answer questions users have specified to that specific person. Think of it as a conversation being interrupted. Some people may take offence to it. Talk page conversations are often continuations of conversations from elsewhere, so only specific people may understand exactly what's going on. Generally, only staff should get invovled in other peoples talk page discussions where appropriate, to help as their job often requires. If you could note this, that would be appreciated. User:Melchizedek/sig 10:56, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Ok. Sure thing. It's really encouraged on most other Wikis/Wikias I'm around, so it was just a natural thing. Believe it or not, I spend only a fraction of my time here, as compared to other Wikis. I hope I didn't offend you. :( Sorry. Alter  {T C B H } 18:50, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
Didn't offend me, but there's a good chance that some people may take offense to it. User:Melchizedek/sig 21:24, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
Alright. Sorry 'bout that. Alter  {T C B H } 17:08, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

{{Noclog}} Template

Be more useful in your usage of it. It's a great template for getting unnecessary pages off the recent changes, but there are pages we want to be on there, so that people find them and make them. For instance, the Bosses in Link's Crossbow Training Page. Bear that in mind. User:Melchizedek/sig 07:55, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Good thing you pointed that template out Alter, pages have the potential to completely disappear. So I made the template automatically categorize pages that it's used on. Thanks for helping with the Wanted Pages clean up. Now, I'd say it's a pretty good list as I and Austin removed several links from pages that shouldn't have been there to begin with. I suppose the next step would be to search for variations in the spellings as what happened with Wake-Up Mushroom. User:Axiomist/sig 08:50, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

OK, Melchizedek. I was just trying to get rid of the red link in the template, as it made it look pretty bad. Thanks, Axiomist! I'm glad to help out. :) Alter  {T C B H } 17:31, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
In instances such as those, it isn't bad having that red link, even hough it looks bad. If others think it looks bad they're likely to make the page, which is the whole idea of wanted pages. :P User:Melchizedek/sig 22:20, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Image Background Removal

I have to inquire as to what program you've been using for the background removal of images, as it hasn't been great quality. There has been a white stroke around the image, which isn't good, especially against the blue of Zelda Wiki. For future reference on such things, be sure to follow the steps set out at Zelda Wiki.org:Image Requests, as Matt's page has been transferred into this 'project'. I hope this explains how I've dealt with your images. User:Melchizedek/sig 09:37, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

I've been using GIMP. I'm pretty new to the program, but I am getting better. It's just taken a few images. Yeah, I can see that they're bad now, but the white background doesn't show up on GIMP, so it's hard to judge until I see them on the site. Sorry about that. Still trying to get the hang of it. I gathered the the Barkle image was fine, though. :p Alter  {T C B H } 17:14, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
That's a problem I came across when I first started transparent-izing images. Here's a good tip; something that I follow, and should apply to any image editing app. To check the quality of your transparency around the edges, temporarily add a dark-coloured layer in the background (I find that the wiki's background colour, or something close, is best). Once you've cleaned it up enough so that any white marks etc are gone or not visible, remove the coloured background layer. Steve seems to be The Master of GIMP, so you could always ask him for some pointers. User:Adam/sig 20:45, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
The Barkle Image needed a bit of touching up, so I've added it to Zelda Wiki.org:Image Requests. I really think Photoshop makes background removal easier than GIMP does. User:Melchizedek/sig 10:30, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Photoshop is easier to use yes, but GIMP does a far better job at removing backgrounds. Much better than anything else.User:Matt/sig 10:47, May 15, 2009 (UTC)
I really think that depends more so on the individual's skills.User:Melchizedek/sig 10:49, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

I would get PhotoShop, but I don't feel like spending that kind of money... Alter  {T C B H } 16:46, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Er, Bittorrent? (Oops, did I just say that... ;) User:Adam/sig 17:26, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Arrrgh... Nah, I'm not a pirate. Alter  {T C B H } 20:01, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
No you didn't Adam. ;)User:Melchizedek/sig 01:05, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
