Digging is a recurring ability in The Legend of Zelda series.[1] Digging goes unnamed in The Minish Cap.

Overview[]

A Link to the Past[]

Link's Awakening[]

Oracle of Seasons[]

Four Swords Adventures[]

The Minish Cap[]

In The Minish Cap, Link is able to Dig after obtaining the Mole Mitts from the Fortress of Winds. He can use them to Dig into Secret Caves and the soft earth inside them, as well as sections of cloud in the Cloud Tops.

Link can also simply Dig with the Mole Mitts in the Overworld, potentially unearthing Hearts, Rupees, or Kinstone Pieces. By Fusing Kinstone Pieces with Flurris and a Forest Picori in Hyrule Castle Garden, two fallen Trees in Western Wood will rise, giving Link access to two specific patches of earth that yield hundreds of Rupees when he Digs them up.

After performing a second Kinstone Fusion with Farore, a Joy Butterfly appears in Castor Wilds that, when collected, increases the speed at which Link can Dig with the Mole Mitts.

Twilight Princess[]

In Twilight Princess, Wolf Link can Dig anywhere on the ground. When used in tandem with his Senses, sparkling patches of earth can be seen that will often yield Rupees when unearthed. Digging in some of these patches will cause Wolf Link to burrow into the earth and emerge in another area.

Phantom Hourglass[]

Skyward Sword[]

In Skyward Sword, Link is able to Dig by using the Digging Mitts and their upgraded form, the Mogma Mitts. The Digging Mitts can be used to Dig into small patches of dirt by pressing the A Button when standing next to them, revealing the contents found underground (often Rupees or Updrafts. The Mogma Mitts allow Link to Dig into patches of soft sand and burrow underground. While Digging underground, Link can break Rocks, set off Bombs, hit Switches, and attack Moldorms.

Link can also use these Items to Dig in Thrill Digger.

Other Appearances[]

Hyrule Warriors[]

The Digging Mitts appear in Adventure Mode as an Item Card. They can be used to dig out holes on the Map and reveal the Reward.
