Difficulty is a recurring mechanic in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]

Overview[]

Hyrule Warriors[]

There are four Difficulty levels in Hyrule Warriors: Easy, Normal, Hard, and Hero, with Hero Difficulty only being unlocked after beating all Scenarios. In the original Hyrule Warriors, only the base-game eighteen Scenarios needed to be beaten, but in Hyrule Warriors Legends and Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition, all thirty-two must be completed. Higher Difficulty levels will make Enemies deal more damage and have more health, but will also increase the amount of Rupees gained upon completion of a Scenario. Difficulty may only be applied to a Scenario, and not Adventure Mode battles.
In each Scenario, there is a Gold Skulltula that may only be found while playing on Hard or Hero Difficulty.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity[]

In Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, the Difficulty modes Easy, Normal, Hard, or Very Hard may be chosen for any Scenario or Challenge. As part of the Pulse of the Ancients Downloadable Content pack, an Apocalyptic Difficulty mode was added. The Difficulty level alters how much damage Enemies do, as well as how much damage it takes to deplete their Weak Point Gauge, but it does not effect the number of Rupees gained, nor any other rewards.
