The Deku Tree Chasm is a location in Tears of the Kingdom. It is inside the Great Deku Tree and was caused by Ganondorf's Gloom entering the Lost Woods and reaching Korok Forest. During this time, the Koroks are paralyzed in place and the Deku Tree is sick with Gloom. Link comes up from the Depths and finds the Deku Tree in pain because its stomach is not well. If Link skydives down this Chasm, he can find Gloom Spawn inside. Link defeats them and Phantom Ganon, the Scourge of the Deku Tree, appears. Link battles it and defeats it and the Koroks come down to see what's going on.
After doing this, Link can accept the Recovering the Hero's Sword main quest in order to get the Master Sword. This chasm is stated to actually be the Deku Tree's stomach which is what he states.
