"I heard it from my gramps. Says the moon's gonna fall... With somethin' that big, it's sure to take this ranch down with it... Hahhh...Oh, well. My only regret is that I won't get to see these guys in their prime as roosters."

Cucco Chicks are recurring characters in the Legend of Zelda series. They are, as their name suggests, infant Cuccos.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

Cucco Chicks are found in the Cucco Shack in southern Romani Ranch, where they are being handled by a Cucco keeper known as Grog. Grog has one wish he wants fulfilled before the Moon crashes into Termina; seeing his Cucco Chicks grow into full-grown roosters. If Link puts on the Bremen Mask and uses the March command, he can round up all the Cucco Chicks and have them follow him. When all are rounded up, they quickly become fully grown Cuccos by the power of the Bremen Mask; the contented Grog presents Link with the Bunny Hood as a reward.

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons

Cucco Chicks can be found in a shack on Crescent Island in the past in Oracle of Ages. In the present, these chicks are replaced by full-grown Cuccos. Cucco Chicks can be found in Malon's and Talon's house in North Horon in Oracle of Seasons. In both of these games, if Link uses a Mystery Seed on one of these chicks, that chick will instantly grow up into an adult Cucco. Interestingly, Cucco Chicks are drawn to Link and cannot be attacked, but when they grow up, they will mostly ignore him, unless he attacks them.

The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap

Cucco Chick (The Minish Cap)

Cucco Chicks are found in Hyrule Town. Some Cucco Chicks are found inside Anju's henhouse, which can only be entered when Link is Minish-sized. These chicks will attempt to eat him as long as he is near. Another Cucco Chick, which Link can fuse Kinstones with, is found atop Swiftblade's Dojo, which is only accessible in Minish form.

Hyrule Warriors

Cucco Chicks (represented by a generic Cucco) appear in certain Adventure Mode scenarios as allied units that must be guided to a Mama Cucco (represented by a Golden Cucco). If the Cucco Chick is defeated the Mama Cucco will become enraged causing her to attack indiscriminately, however if the player manages to guide it to the Mama Cucco successfully, they will gain both as additional allied units along with the Cucco troops they lead.

In Linkle's Tale, Linkle must guide hungry Cucco Chicks (again represented by a generic Cucco) to Feeding Grounds marked on the map, while defending them from enemies. Successfully guiding a Cucco Chick to the Feeding Ground will cause it to mature into a Golden Cucco.
