Rex's costume

Collaboration: Xenoblade Chronicles 2, also known as [Xenoblade Chronicles 2], is a side quest from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It is unlocked upon installation of a game update released on November 9th 2017. It requests Link to find and discover the "Salvager" treasures, hidden inside three new Treasure Chests containing the "Rex's costume", inspired by Rex from Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

Follow the Red Shooting Stars

The three Treasure Chests are spawned from three red shooting stars that appear in the night sky in certain locations then fall to the earth leaving behind a special Treasure Chest with a Star Fragment symbol on its lid that emit a red light which produces a column of light that Link can use to find the location of impact much like the column of light produced by Star Fragments.

  • The shooting star that produces the chest containing the Salvager Headwear appears in the sky above the southern end of the Bridge of Hylia in the Lake Hylia region landing on the southeastern shore of the lake near the pier next to the bridge's southern end.
  • The shooting star that produces the chest containing the Salvager Vest appears in the sky above the eastern side of the left eye of Skull Lake (the eye with the stone column where the Zuna Kai Shrine sits) in the Deep Akkala region (the shooting star will appear if Link steps on to a ledge on the left eye's eastern side) and will land in Akkala Wilds.
  • The shooting star that produces the chest containing the Salvager Trousers appears when Link is standing on the southeast portion of Hebra Peak in the Hebra Mountains region and lands on a cliff near an Updraft southeast of Hebra Peak.

The three chests will remain at their red shooting star's crash site and will continue to glow until they are opened and their contents are removed.
