- Okay, fine, ill edit it myself, and ill try my best not to completely ruin things, but ive done stuff like that multiple times. Are you sure about it not being catchable while going up for air?
Is it a coincidence that every time I've caught it while I thought it was going up for air, it was actually turning round to go back to the lilypads? I'm not sure about this. I always thought that you had to get it to notice the lure as it went up for air.
Basically, what I'm asking is this - is what's written in the article now the truth? Can it only be caught while it's either at, or going to, the lilypads?
One other thing. What's the score with two Hyrule Loaches in the pond at once? I've seen it twice now, as a child. I even caught them both, one after the other. The second one was caught immediately as soon as I handed the first one in! They weighed 16lb, then 15lb. Avengah 16:52, 31 August 2011 (EDT)
- I'm PRETTY sure you can only catch it as it's swimming back to the lilypads. While I was testing it out, I made several save states right before the loach would go up for air. I would move the lure in different places and it would never notice it, so I think you caught it as it was swimming back to the lilypads. The motion that it makes as it is going back to the lilypads is sort of faster than when it is going up for air.
- Also, I'm gonna have to check the part out about the two loaches. I remember seeing two loaches at the same time when I was younger, but I thought I was just having a bad memory. Were the two loaches there at the same time? Or did the second loach appear after you caught the first one? Dany36 17:10, 31 August 2011 (EDT)
- I can confirm this. We spent a good afternoon trying to catch it as many different ways as possible and it would only bite while it was in the lilypads or while it was swimming back from the middle. Otherwise it would always completely ignore the lure. Ekim 17:18, 31 August 2011 (EDT)
- Ok...Ekim and I just tried it as a child and yep, seems like there are TWO Hylian Loaches as young Link: the second one just appears in the east lilypads. I tried it as Adult Link 5 times (as in, got the "usual" loach to appear 5 times but the second one wasn't there) and couldn't find the other one, so...I guess that's just as young Link only. Dominant Name
Is the name "Hylian Loach" used in Ocarina of Time? If not, I suggest that we move this page to "Hyrule Loach" as that's the name used in OoT3D. - TonyT S C 04:25, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
- Hylian Loach is a much better-sounding name IMO, but according to what we decided here I guess we don't have much of a choice, especially since the name Hyrule Loach is used in the original OOT as well. (We still haven't moved Kargorok by the way). — Hylian King [*] 11:53, 1 March 2013 (UTC)
- In Japan it's Hyrule Loach in both games, while outside Japan it's Hyrule Loach in both OoT releases and Hylian Loach in Twilight Princess. Unlike the names we discussed previously, both are named in game so both are just as acceptable. For some reason the Hyrule Loach was often called Hylian Loach by fans before Twilight Princess came out... which is weird. But I think moving to Hyrule Loach makes sense, if only because it's more "accurate", even if it doesn't sound as nice. User:Fizzle/sig 15:13, 1 March 2013 (UTC)
