Hiding just beneath the shifting sands, Geldmen quickly surface and pursue when a foe approaches, only to retreat back under the sand. They are surprisingly fast, and can withstand a couple of blows from Link's sword.

In FSA, they can get caught in quicksand, where they will then sit in the center of the sinkhole and cause damage to Link if he gets pulled in. On the other hand, they can also be destroyed by Devalants living in these sinkholes.

They also appear in Tingle's Tower during the Mole Melee game. Playing the role of the moles, Geldman appear in a field and must be hit with Hammers. Certain Geldman will appear in green, red, blue or purple colors and will give the respective Link three points for hitting them. Black Geldman will also appear who will explode when hit, stunning Link.

The fight against Master Kohga consists of three phases, each of which utilize his control over magnetism and levitation. In the first phase, Master Kohga conjures up a rock above him to hurl at Link. Striking Master Kohga from afar as he levitates in the air, such as with a Bow, will break his focus and cause the rock to fall on his head. This temporarily stuns Master Kohga and allows Link to attack him unopposed.

In the second phase, he levitates above the large pit nearby and conjures up two rocks that spin around him. Link must hit Master Kohga when one of the rocks is directly above his head, causing it to once again fall on his head and stun him.
In ALBW, when the Sand Rod is used on Geldmen, it launches them from the sand, revealing legs and stripping them naked of their sand aside from red thong briefs. They then proceed to run away from Link. They can be struck while attempting to escape and will drop Rupees.

  +
In the third and final phase, he conjures up a fortified boulder to attempt to crush Link. Link must use Magnesis to gain control of the boulder and push it back towards Kohga. This will stun Kohga once again and give Link the opportunity to finish the fight.

This connection is lost in translation.

Template:Boss Master Kohga is a mini-boss in Breath of the Wild.

Characteristics

Master Kohga is the Leader of the Yiga Clan, an opposing Clan to the Sheikah Tribe who hunt Link on a ceaseless mission. Master Kohga is a powerful figure of authority, but he behaves in a quirky manner and often humiliates himself.

Link meets Master Kohga during the "Divine Beast Vah Naboris" Main Quest, outside of the exit of the Yiga Clan Hideout in an open area with a large pit in the center. Master Kohga will recognize that Link is the Hero he has been searching for and initiates a battle.[1] After defeating Master Kohga, he will use his last bit of energy to perform his "secret technique", which backfires and causes him to fall down the large pit in the center of the area.[2] While falling down the pit, Master Kohga is heard yelling that he shall be remembered and the Yiga Clan will track Link to the ends of Hyrule.[3] As a reward, Link will receive a Treasure Chest containing Riju's Thunder Helm.

Strategy

In the third and final phase, he conjures up a fortified boulder to attempt to crush Link. Link must use Magnesis to gain control of the boulder and push it back towards Kohga. This will stun Kohga once again and give Link the opportunity to finish the fight.

Trivia

 • Master Kohga is the only Boss in Breath of the Wild that is required to be defeated before entering a Divine Beast. He is the only dungeon boss who isn't directly connected with Ganon. • Master Kohga childish temper and goofy personality as well as having his head stuck in the ground resembles Zant in his battle in Twilight Princess.
