Zelda Universe was started in February of 2001 by [[User:Lars|Lars-Christian Simonsen]], aka AnakiN-. It started out as a small, personal website with sporadic information on ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time|Ocarina of Time]]'' and ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask|Majora's Mask]]''. Within a year, it was expanded to include more in-depth coverage of the two games, as well as the older games. Popularity increased almost exponentially with the addition of new content, and reached its peak around the release of ''[[The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker|The Wind Waker]]'' in 2003, when more than 15,000 people visited the site per day on average over a period of a couple of months. Since that it stabilized itself as the most popular Legend of Zelda fan site online.

Summer of 2005 was marked a time of change for the website, when Lars decided to pull out of the site due to personal reasons. Lee Dodd made an offer which was accepted, and became the new owner of the site. A year later he decided to cash in, and sold the site on to Yousof ("spdude"). Yousof held the site throughout the year and up to mid 2007. These years were marked as a period of commercial growth, with both Lee and Yousof facing accusations that they didn't genuinely care for the community, only owning the site to reap advertising revenue while leaving the community to manage itself.

Late July marked the return of [[User:Jason|Jason Rappaport]] to the community, who had previously served as a webmaster under Lars and Lee. Soon after his return, Jason made an offer to Yousof to buy the site... an offer that after much discussion Yousof accepted. Even though the framework around the site has changed several times since 2005, the core values and day-to-day operations stayed the same, and Zelda fans and site veterans are stayed in charge of the maintenance of the site.

For some reason it's not working right now, though. Probably has something to do with the fact that the server's been derpy lately. BS Zelda

There's a lot of updated sprites in BS The Legend of Zelda and a few exclusive sprites in Ancient Stone Tablets that aren't on the wiki yet. I think it would be an interesting addition to the wiki to have them. In particular, I'm looking for the updated Zora sprite from BS Zelda and the Mole-character sprite from AST. IfIHaveTo 16:19, 4 September 2010 (EDT)

I know this request is like a year old, but I didn't see anyone answer it, and since I like River Zoras, here's a sprite (at x2 scale, not sure what is ideal). Twilight Princess graveyard ghosts

I think there should be some pictures of the ghosts that point you in the right direction in Hyrule Castle when you're using your wolf senses. I'm curious if they're skeletal like the Hero's Spirit or not. Dekler 13:29, 1 June 2013 (UTC)

Princess Ruto images

Hello. As suggested on Princess Ruto's talk page, we need images of Princess Ruto in Ocarina of Time 3D, most preferably her adult forme. It's also hinted on the Ocarina of Time 3D page that she has 2 different appearances beside her adult and child ones. So that would be 2 images at the least. Thanks! I found a very large version of File:Zelda and Link-Stained Glass.jpg that needs editing to make fit to replace the current version. I don't have the image editing skills to be able to fix the image. The current version is on the left, and the new version is on the right.

That's actually a pretty good size. Images can be as big as 20 MB (theoretically). The bigger, the better. :P (As long as its quality doesn't degrade the bigger it gets.) --Dany36 15:48, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, 20 MB is the max. Also the wiki is supposed to be able to thumbnail images at least 15 MP in size (that can be changed if we need it), so the current size should be fine... For some reason it's not working right now, though. Probably has something to do with the fact that the server's been derpy lately. I guess we'll have to wait and see if the problem goes away on its own.
Other than that, I don't really understand what part of this image needs fixing. — Hylian King [*] 15:55, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
The new image is not as vibrant as the current image and does not reflect the true colors of the original source, which are more accurately reflected by the current image. In short, the new image is too dark. wwtoonlinkfan 01:18, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

Custom Character FanArt

Yeah... So I cannot make FanArt myself, but can someone atleast make one of capless Purple Link with more purple clothes? (That's how my custom character, ThePurpleLibrarian, looks.) I just ask it, because I don't know how to upload images from your computer self.

I'm not sure who you are since you didn't sign that post but this request is really pretty vague. If you simply want to upload an image, just use an image hosting site like Imageshack for non-wiki purposes. I can try and help further if needed -- Bwar (talk) 19:37, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
