Misery Mire is a bog in the southwestern corner of the Dark World in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. It is also the location of the dungeon of the same name, that houses one of the seven Maidens imprisoned within a crystal. Misery Mire is inacessable from the overworld map of the Dark World, and can be entered only by using the flute to summon the bird from Kakariko Village's weather vane. The Mire is a dark and filthy place enduring a torrential downpour, and home to various swamp-dwelling creatures. The Misery Mire dungeon can only be entered by one who uses the the Ether Medallion to calm the storms that ravage the area. The dungeon is home to the mysterious artifact, the Cane of Somaria, and is guarded by the monstrous eyeball creature Vitreous.
