The Thief Girl is a character in A Link Between Worlds. She is imprisoned in Thieves' Hideout[1] after she discovers the location of the portrait of the sage Osfala.[2] Link rescues her from her prison, and, in return, she takes Link to the portrait of Osfala.[3] However, as they are trapped inside the Hideout, Link must complete the dungeon with the Thief Girl's girl help.

After being rescued by Link, she leads him to a house right of the Thieves' Hideout entrance where the painting is hidden, and leaves Thieves' Town, hiding in a cave south of the vacant house. When Link visits her, she is wearing a mask and gives him Rupees as an additional reward for rescuing her.

The Thief Girl speaks in stereotypical tomboyish slang.

Trivia

  • When receiving the Rupees after the Thieves' Town Dungeon, the Thief Girl says "How about we just keep this a secret to everybody, okay?" This refers to the very first The Legend of Zelda, which had several secret entrances to caves where a person would give Link an amount of rupees, saying, "It's a secret to everybody."
  • The Thief Girl may be a reference to Ghanti from the A Link to the Past manga, as they both have purple hair and are thieves. Also, after the Thieves' Hideout is completed, the Thief Girl is seen in a cave wearing a mask that looks like a fox. Ghanti transforms into a fox-like creature in the Dark World.
    • She is also similar to Kafei from Majora's Mask, in that both of them have purple hair, travel with and assist Link in a thief's hideout, wear masks that resemble a fox, and use variations of the iconic quote, "It's a secret to everybody."
