Ikana Canyon Lower Cliffs which is called Ikana Valley.

In Majora's Mask, the Ikana Canyon is the region to the east of Clock Town, and the place where the final temple resides.

When Gyorg was defeated, and Link had revived Great Bay, the three Giants told him that there was one last Giant needing help. So he set out to the east, to the land of Ikana. He used Epona to get over the fences and vanquish any enemies he met on the way. When he had gotten to a cliff, Link met a ghostly ghoul who told Link that he couldn't pass. But when showed the Garo's Mask, the ghoul made a tree appear for Link to hookshot. The ghoul also warned Link of what was to come by wearing the mask. When Link got to the canyon, he was stopped short of another, yet taller cliff. Using the Ice Arrows, he froze the octoroks and quickly used his hookshot to get up to the top. What Link found was not exactly encouraging. This land was cursed and was home to the dead and spirits filled with regret and hatred, the Garo Ninjas were also located here where they were spying on the deserted place.

Link followed a dried-out river to a cave, which held what appeared to be a spring. His first step inside showed a whole different story. A ghost appeared, and set Link under a cursed melody, which was slowly draining his health. Link recognized the ghost as Flat's Brother, Sharp. Link knew the only way to soothe Sharp's mind was to play the Song of Storms. Upon doing so, Sharp was healed and allowed the waters to flow again. With the waters flowing, the Music Box House came to life and the Gibdos disappeared. Link noticed a girl, who looked extremely troubled. When the girl saw Link, she quickly ran inside and locked the door. Link used a bomb to lure her out and then quickly dashed inside. The only way to go was downstairs. As Link was going down, he heard a sound from the closet. When he opened it, he discovered the girl’s father. He had been partially turned into a Gibdo. The girl then rushed out of nowhere and protected him. Link knew the solution for releasing a person from a curse. He then played the Song of Healing, which turned the girl's father back to normal, healing him of the curse. The girl, whose name was Pamela, had now been reunited with her father. A mask had dropped on the floor, in the likeness of a Gibdo.

Link saw that where he needed to go was toward a castle, known as The Ancient Castle of Ikana. Unfortunately, when he arrived there, it was blocked off. Link noticed that there was indeed an alternate route, but it wasn’t one he actually preferred to follow. The only way he could go was through the Empty Well. On arrival, he found Gibdos guarding the entrances into other rooms. He put on the Gibdo Mask, and decided to talk to them. Each of them had a desire, and only when given it were they going to move. Link didn’t know if he had all the items that the Gibdos asked for, but luckily he was able to find them in other rooms, allowing him to move on past Gibdos. He finally reached the end of the confusing maze, and his hard work did not go unrewarded. In the final room, Link found a chest. Inside it: The Mirror Shield. Using the Mirror Shield, Link positioned himself directly in front of a ray of sunlight and aimed at the block, making it vanish. The route to the Ancient Palace was clear. Upstream the river, there is a waterfall and behind it there is a secret shrine.

Sakon is here when he is not doing other business, simply running around. He asks Link about his sword, most likely in the intention of stealing it as Tatl goes haywire over it.

Notes

Ikana Canyon (not just Stone Tower Temple) is reputable in Majora's Mask for having more than twice as many boss battles (mini-boss and optional included) than any other place in the rest of the game, totaling twenty-six if each boss is counted as an individual in a battle (three Dinolfos in a single battle equaling three separate bosses).

Locations

Canyon Pass- The Canyon Pass is a rocky gorge ridden with iron fences, ancient statues, and and enemies called Nejirons that resemble Gorons, but explode on contact. The pass features an entrance to the graveyard and the main canyon.

Ikana Graveyard- Ikana Graveyard is an eerie burial ground kept by Dampe the Gravedigger whom patrolls by day and hides by night, claiming he is frightened by ghosts. As night falls upon the canyon, the undead soldiers of Ikana awaken and march aimlessly around the graveyard attacking intruders. Once one has obtained the Captain's Hat from defeating the soldiers' gigantic captain Skull Keeta, whom rests under an arch near Dampe's house. On each night of the three day cycle, the soldiers open a new grave which feature a small dungeon within, the first being a tomb guarded by an Iron Knuckle where one learns the Song of Storms, the second also featuring an Iron Knuckle and a Heart Piece, and the third featuring treasure-digging Dampe searching for an empty bottle, asking for assistance in defending him from several Poes that hide in the darkness. The undead soldiers are that of Stalchildren from Ocarina of Time.

Ikana Canyon- The main canyon area where many of the canyon's locations are accesible.

Sakon's Hideout- Sakon the thief who plays a major role in the Anju and Kafei side quest, has his hideout here hidden behind a large seal that only he can open. Once inside the hideout, Link finds a virtual maze featuring puzzles, enemies, and traps.

Ikana River- The dried up Ikana River pours down from a haunted grotto and into the canyon's neighboring region, the Southern Swamp below. The river has remained empty for years as the ghost composer Sharp has inflicted an evil curse upon the river, so no life will prevail in the canyon any more.

The Music Box House- Young Pamela and her father, a ghost researcher, reside here fending off the undead with the carnival-like music coming from the trumpet-like contraption a top their house. An endless parade of Gibdos encircle the house as they have partially turned the man of the house into a half-Gibdo from a near-fatal attack. Frightened, Pamela shoves her father in a closet and promises to protect him from any further harm, despite the fact the ghost-repel music isn't working as its source of power the river, is dried up.

The Well- Ikana's well featuring a network of water channels and chambers has been long-dried up from the evil powers of Ikana's undead. Banned for entry by Pamela's father, due to "ghost sightings," the well has become the home of Gibdo community that await certain items to trade for. Once Link has escaped from the maze-like well, he can obtain the Mirror Shield and journey into Ikana Castle.

Ikana Castle- Long forgotten by the world, much like the rest of Ikana Canyon, the castle has crumbled into ancient ruins, populated by nasty traps, evil monsters, and lost souls seeking revenge on the world. At the end of the castle, the king of Ikana and his two dim-witted guards await for a savior to bring Ikana out of its curse.

Stone Tower Temple- A topsy-turvey temple located at the highest point of Ikana. The tower is full of undead creatures, ranging from ReDeads, Poes, and Eyegores to Armos and Garos. Halfway through the temple, Link fights the Garo Master and receives the Light Arrow, and halfway through the temple once it is upside down, Link fights the bat-attracting vampire Gomess who rewards Link with the Boss Key. At the end of the temple Link obtains the Giant Mask and is warped into a mysterious desert where he duels to the death with Twinmold two gigantic parasites that have a powerful taste for flesh.
