Bari are huge gelatinous masses similar to jellyfish that are equipped with an electric offensive attack. They first appear in ALttP, and their latest appearance was in ALBW. Some variants of this enemy may split into smaller versions of themselves if attacked.

A Link to the Past
In A Link to the Past, the Bari exist in two forms: the natural blue hue common to other titles, and the red Bari which is the stronger of the two and splits into two smaller enemies known as Biri when struck with the sword. These foes pulse with electricity, and sometimes experience lapses of non-electricity during which Link must strike them with his sword.

In the GBA remake of the game, green Bari appear surrounding the orange Arrghus in the Palace of the Four Sword, the additional dungeon. They are stronger than the red and blue Bari, but like the blue ones, they do not split into Biri when defeated.

Ocarina of Time
In Ocarina of Time, these electric monsters can be found Inside Jabu Jabu's Belly or in the Gerudo's Training Ground on Master Quest and will electrocute Link on contact. They hide above their prey and drop down on individuals who wander across their path. Bari are parasitic creatures who can only survive inside the body of a living host.

Thus the Bari survived in Jabu Jabu's belly. The most efficient way of destroying them is the Boomerang (or weapons such as the bow on Master Quest), though Deku Nuts and sword strikes will suffice before this weapon is acquired. Once defeated, it will split into a trio of Biri, which are also best taken out by the Boomerang.

Oracle of Ages
In Oracle of Ages, Bari make an appearance and take a similar role as they did in previous games. They appear only in water areas and can be found all over Jabu-Jabu's Belly. When defeated, they split into two Biri.

Twilight Princess
In Twilight Princess, these enemies are located in the Lakebed Temple. Unlike the Bari found in A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time, they are found exclusively within bodies of water behaving more like jellyfish. When Link approaches one, they generate an electric field around them that acts as a shield, but lasts for a short time. When the shield is gone, Link can Clawshot the Bari to rip their nucleus right out of their heads, killing them instantly. They are also larger than their older counterparts, being about twice the size as Link. Luckily, there are only a few that the player will have to deal with in this game.

Trivia
Bari from TP are freshwater jellyfish, which is unusual since almost all jellyfish live in saltwater.
