The Bokoblin Gear is a recurring archetype of Weapon in The Legend of Zelda series.[1]
Location and Uses[]
Breath of the Wild[]
Bokoblin Gear is a variety of equipment wielded by Bokoblins of all types, and it occurs in three tiers of increasing strength and durability. Regular Bokoblin Gear is typically wielded by basic Bokoblins. It is formed out of Tree Branches and bark and, due to its poor construction, has low durability and attack power.[2][3][4] Its upgraded form, which bears the "Spiked" modifier, is most commonly found wielded by Blue Bokoblins. It is strengthened through the use of spikes of sharpened Animal bone, giving it greater durability and damage output.[5][6][7][8] The final variation, designated with the "Dragonbone" modifier, is wielded by Black Bokoblins, Silver Bokoblins, and Golden Bokoblins. It is reinforced with fossilized bones, which further increases its attack power and durability beyond those of Spiked weapons.[9][10][11][12][13]
When scanned with the amiibo Rune, the Breath of the Wild Series Bokoblin amiibo will spawn a Treasure Chest containing a piece of Bokoblin Gear.
All forms of Bokoblin Gear are formed around a wooden base. This means that Weapons in this archetype will float in Water, and they cannot attract Lightning during Thunderstorms or conduct Electricity. However, they will burn when exposed to Fire or a Scorching Climate, and they are unable to be manipulated through the Magnesis Rune.
List of Equipment[]
Item | Strength | Durability | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Boko Club |
4 | 8 | A crude Bokoblin club made to clobber small prey. It's essentially a stick, so its durability is low. |
Spiked Boko Club |
12 | 14 | A reinforced Bokoblin club made to maximize damage. The sharpened bones jabbed into it make it a brutal weapon. |
Dragonbone Boko Club |
24 | 18 | This Bokoblin club has been reinforced with fossilized bones to maximize clobbering potential. Only the brawniest of Bokoblins can manage its immense weight. |
Boko Bat |
6 | 12 | A clunky club made by a Bokoblin. If you swing it at an enemy's shield, it may be able to knock the shield out of your foe's hand. |
Spiked Boko Bat |
18 | 12 | After much consideration by Bokoblins on how to improve the Boko bat, they simply attached sharp spikes to it. A skilled fighter can cause immense damage with this. |
Dragonbone Boko Bat |
36 | 16 | Used by only the toughest Bokoblin warriors, this Boko bat has been fortified by fossilized bone. It boasts a high durability and is strong enough to beat down powerful foes. |
Boko Spear |
2 | 12 | A spear recklessly carved from a tree branch. Useful for skewering fish and meat, which can then be cooked over a flame. If it's close to breaking, consider throwing it. |
Spiked Boko Spear |
6 | 15 | A Boko spear enhanced with sharpened animal bones. It's light, easy to use, and deals a decent amount of damage. |
Dragonbone Boko Spear |
12 | 20 | This Boko spear has been strengthened with fossilized bones. The bones are positioned outward so the fangs bite at the opponent. Beware Bokoblins carrying this weapon. |
Boko Bow |
4 | 16 | A basic Bokoblin bow made of wood. It's made by taking any tree branch and tying a string to either end, so don't expect much in the way of combat effectiveness. |
Spiked Boko Bow |
20 | 20 | An upgraded Boko Bow bound with animal bone to boost its durability and firepower. Its craftsmanship is sloppy, but it's light and easy to use. |
Dragon Bone Boko Bow |
30 | 20 | A Boko bow reinforced by fossils. Bokoblins handpicked the materials it's made from, so it boasts a respectable firepower. |
Boko Shield |
3 | 5 | A Bokoblin-made shield created by attaching a handhold to any flat tree bark picked up off the ground. It's pretty shoddy, so don't expect it to last very long. |
Spiked Boko Shield |
10 | 7 | A Boko shield made of slightly stronger wood. It's been reinforced with animal bones. |
Dragonbone Boko Shield |
25 | 8 | This Boko shield is reinforced with fossilized bone. Its defensive capabilities are respectable, but its predictably slipshod craftsmanship spells low durability. |
Tears of the Kingdom[]
The Bokoblin Gear is set to reappear in 'Tears of the Kingdom', with new weapons for both Link and Bokoblins to use such as Blue Boko Reapers, in addition to the gear already featured.
