Well, hi. For the last few days, I'm having problems working with this wiki, and I thought you'd be someone good to ask.
Uses
The item is one of the game's three unique bags capable of storing other items, saving space in the main Inventory. This bag in particular holds items dropped by enemies.

  +
Now, I know very little about what is wrong with this wiki lately, so I was hoping you would help me get clear on the subject.
It is essential to progress through the game, as Link needs to collect 20 Joy Pendants to give to Mrs. Marie for the Cabana Deed. The deed is required to access one Triforce Chart, therefore making the Spoils Bag a mandatory Quest Item.

  +
Moreover, there's a problem that I think only I am having, and that problem is that pages aren't updating for me from the last time I was here making edits. Edits that I made to pages like River Zora don't seem to be appearing normally, unless I look at it from the history option.

This is worrisome, and I waited for two days before starting to feel that this problem may be exclusive to me. Hoping for some help... 12:57, 4 July 2011 (EDT)

:Don't fret! It's not just you, everyone's been having some issues using ZW for the past week or so, we've been experiencing some server issues and such which is making the site look funky-- for some people it's been completely inaccessible, and for others they just keep getting cached page errors and such. I'd recommend clearing your browser cache, and possibly clearing your cookies and see if that improves your problem. 19:33, July 4, 2011 (UTC)<br><small>(yea, I'm not Cipriano but I answered anyhow)</small>

::Hey Max, Mandi seems to have explained it sufficiently - server change-overs, integration of the new skin to various pages/templates, larger viewership, etc. could all be contributing to the problems you are experiencing. I know that the downtimes and crashes seem to be effecting browsers differently as well - I run Opera on my laptop, but Safari on the Mac... to test, I brought up ZW at the same time yesterday on both: it was down on Safari, but I could at least get to the page on Opera (though the wiki was a mess of background and code). We hope to have these problems solved within the decade (ha!), but seriously, hopefully soon. 01:15, 5 July 2011 (EDT)

:::Thanks. I was just worried because I thought that the Wiki is looking okay for the last few days again, and that made me think that the problem with pages not updating was just for me. At least now I know the truth. And I clear my browser cache at least once everyday, so that's already done.

:::Just being curious - the skin change and server change happened some good time back, and back then there was no problem, right? So I wonder what suddenly caused it now. I've seen the same problem at Kirby Wiki when randomly passing over.
|-

  +
:::Well, anyways, good to know that the problem is being worked on. Once again, just curious - who's working on these? And how many days or months (years?) might it take? And in the mean time that it is being fixed, can I keep making edits in the wiki?

::::Don't worry, you're not being annoying! These are all very good questions likely on the minds of other editors; you were just the first to ask! Zelda Wiki is on a joint server with Zelda Universe, the largest Zelda fansite on the Internet, and its owner, Jason, initiated a server move to accommodate the growing viewership between the two sites (and his other projects on the same server). At around 1:30 EST, the wiki begins to slow and sometimes even crashes thanks to the nightly backup done to safeguard the content on Zelda Universe and Zelda Wiki in case of spammer wars or other circumstances. Yes, during the downtime, you are of course allowed to continue editing - just keep in mind when these backups occur, and be sure to save everything often (off-wiki as well, especially if the edits are larger) just in case the wiki goes down unexpectedly. 22:59, 5 July 2011 (EDT)

:Your signature looks great. Personally, I see no point in giving a link to contributions and sandbox from a signature, since it is much more unlikely for people to visit these pages before they visit the other person's user page or talk page. So, people are much more likely to visit them from your user page or talk page.

::That's a good idea! In regards to your question about the backups, I don't actually know... on my computer, the backups have always knocked out the wiki for me, so this is really nothing new. The backup's always been a bother, since both sites have so much content, but the server changeover may have upped the crash frequency. Then again, I don't have server access, so I only know so much! :) 22:28, 6 July 2011 (EDT)

|Obtained after defeating Bokoblins, twenty are given to Mrs. Marie to receive the Cabana Deed, and other twenty for the Hero's Charm.

  +
:::Also, wouldn't it be better if the images of the stamp were in their original sizes from the game instead of stretched to be made bigger? And while transparency can help in making things look better a lot of the times, I think a white background, or maybe the background being the page of the book the seals are in would be better, because they are otherwise tough to see. In this stamp picture for example, look at the previous revision that was uploaded by me. I think the white background makes the picture much more clear in this case, while in the transparent one things are unclear, blurry, and the eyes are pretty invisible.

::::I hope you don't mind answering the Stamp part, I was the one who added the stamp field to the table. Each stamp is different in shape, color and motif, so the table now shows how each of them look like. The images were cropped from the Stamp Book page, where they were always transparent. It would be nice to show the book's pages where they're placed, if only someone could upload them,....-- 11:26, 7 July 2011 (EDT)

:::::I think you got me wrong K2L. By adding the images of the stamps in the table, you've done a great thing. What I was wondering was that, among the five columns in the table, what is the first column titled Number needed for?
|Obtained after defeating Moblins, twenty can be given to Maggie's Father for a Treasure Chart, and three to Dampa the Sailor to play a pig-chasing minigame.

  +
:::::Once again, you got a wrong sense out of my sentence. I know the images are from that page. I was just telling Cipriano how I thought non-transparent pictures would be better in this case. ::::::Most tables number the listed items, so I thought it would be ideal to do the same thing there. :::::::Sorry, Max12, I've been out for awhile. You bring up very valid ideas. I'd support taking out the number column in the Stamp Station table; if anything, it was implemented to help any editor working on it know how many stamps there were left to upload. It also gives off the impression that the stamps are achieved in a certain order - obviously false. And by keeping the images the same size as they are in-game is cool to me as well; they'd be easier to recognize for one, and the quality would be better as smaller images anyway. 01:20, 30 October 2011 (EDT)

Just introducing myself
  +
Hello. As you're the current Wiki Coordinator, I just figured that I would introduce myself. About two years ago I was a fairly active editor here at this wiki, enough for me to be labeled as a "Wiki Contributor" on the ZU forums. I used to gather with a bunch of these old contributors and coordinators on Skype until I just kinda went absent from the Zelda fandom, only to return now recently. Sadly most of the old contributors have moved on by now, saddening as it is, so I'm pretty much the only oldie left now. Regardless I'm going to try to find some time for this wiki, so I just figured that I would introduce myself to you, the current coordinator. Pleasure to meet you, if you ever need to discuss about something in regards to the wiki, you can do so in my talk page or PM me on ZU if you have an account there. == About this one user ==
  +
  +
Okay honestly I don't know who to approach to about this, but I seem to have a problem with this one user here, or at least what I personally feel is a problem. The user Mighty Dekunut has been outright replacing the older "timeline placement" sections in the game articles with his, frankly, poorly written "chronology" sections. The older timeline sections, while yes a bit outdated, were written fine and were already sourced, and we've been meaning to update them to match up to Hyrule Historia's confirmations. But Mighty Dekunut has been completely replacing him with his sections that I honestly find to be badly written, not matching up to the wiki's manual of style, and lacking sources.
  +
  +
I already had to restore the older revisions of some of the articles because of this. I have tried to explain this to Mighty Dekunut, but I feel that he may not be listening to me. What I'm asking is that it'd be nice if one of the wiki staff could watch over his edits or something, because I honestly feel that he isn't getting my point. Thank you. :Just a quick update, he still does not seem to be understanding what I'm getting at, and I fear that a revision/editing war is about to follow. I could really use some assistance here. The Goron Moron 17:29, 4 January 2012 (EST)

::GM, make sure you do what you can to prevent an edit war, even if it means stopping replying/reverting. I'll figure out what's going on, and we'll find some sort of consensus soon. Hello Cipriano ;)!

Sorry for this large edit without start a discussion, I understand you since I was an admin on The Vault - the Fallout wiki of Wikia Gaming, and a bureaucrat on the Deus Ex wiki of Wikia Gaming too, until I left them for lack of time. Anyway, it will not happen again my friend =).

Also, thanks for keeping it and yes actually, it's just a base, like you said the page requires more work for a better overview, I did it only to see more easily all the incarnations of Link and their reappearance throughout the series.

On another subject, I'm French so I'll also look if all the pages have their French translations from time to time. :Hey Itachou, thanks for being so understanding. It's nice to see someone from Wikia venture to an independent wiki and contribute! :) Even the way we talk on discussion/talk pages is different here - we keep everything on the same page so that anyone looking for information in a discussion in the future can find the entire conversation on one page! :Hey Nathbuds, I hope I didn't discourage you! It's not that none of us want to see theory or that its not appropriate for this wiki - its just that discussion pages are meant for discussing article improvements, organization, or contributional commentary - questioning as to the legitimacy of theories is more relevant in a forum - you'll get far more responses, and have a better idea as to the acceptance of your theory! :) 12:09, 9 April 2012 (EDT)

So at the suggestion of several other editors (including some admins) on my talk page, I'm considering taking some of the disorganized ramblings on my Thoughts page and making them into one or more WikiExclusives. Specifically, I'm thinking of doing a series of articles on the various incarnations of Link and what makes them distinctive, probably starting with the Link from Ocarina of Time. So, do you think this is a viable project, and do you have any advice for me? --Osteoderm Jacket 22:07, 1 April 2012 (EDT)

:This sounds like an interesting idea for sure! Before I say anything, you should go check out the page in the Help Guide on WikiExclusives for pointers on how to start and the "rules", per se. It's very flexible, so don't be afraid to stray a bit from the formula. I've skimmed your thoughts page and it's information galore - make sure that whatever you write is clear and concise and it should be fine. 12:08, 9 April 2012 (EDT)

Zelda Wiki Problem

Well, hi. For the last few days, I'm having problems working with this wiki, and I thought you'd be someone good to ask.

Now, I know very little about what is wrong with this wiki lately, so I was hoping you would help me get clear on the subject.

User:Max 12/sig 12:57, 4 July 2011 (EDT)

Don't fret! It's not just you, everyone's been having some issues using ZW for the past week or so, we've been experiencing some server issues and such which is making the site look funky-- for some people it's been completely inaccessible, and for others they just keep getting cached page errors and such. I'd recommend clearing your browser cache, and possibly clearing your cookies and see if that improves your problem.User:Mandi/sig 19:33, July 4, 2011 (UTC)
(yea, I'm not Cipriano but I answered anyhow)
Hey Max, Mandi seems to have explained it sufficiently - server change-overs, integration of the new skin to various pages/templates, larger viewership, etc. could all be contributing to the problems you are experiencing. User:Cipriano/sig 01:15, 5 July 2011 (EDT)
Thanks. I was just worried because I thought that the Wiki is looking okay for the last few days again, and that made me think that the problem with pages not updating was just for me. At least now I know the truth. And I clear my browser cache at least once everyday, so that's already done.
I'm using Firefox 5, but I have Opera, so I may use that if things seem better there.
Just being curious - the skin change and server change happened some good time back, and back then there was no problem, right? So I wonder what suddenly caused it now. I've seen the same problem at Kirby Wiki when randomly passing over.
Well, anyways, good to know that the problem is being worked on. Once again, just curious - who's working on these? And how many days or months (years?) might it take? And in the mean time that it is being fixed, can I keep making edits in the wiki?
Anyways, hope I didn't come off as annoying. I was just curious, and a little worried. Thanks Mandi and Cipriano. User:Max 12/sig 22:14, 5 July 2011 (EDT)
Don't worry, you're not being annoying! User:Cipriano/sig 22:59, 5 July 2011 (EDT)
I liked your signature coding so much, I made mine using the same coding but tweaked it a bit to make it unique. Hope you don't mind! :P User:Cipriano/sig 23:58, 5 July 2011 (EDT)
I think a short message should be posted and made pretty visible on the front page, telling how the problems are still there, and what it might cause.
If the backup process is what makes the wiki do some of such things like showing error messages and telling how a page is cached, and pretty much making the wiki inaccessible, then how come backup never seemed to be a bother in the past until now?
Sigh... Okay... I guess that's how it goes...
Your signature looks great. Personally, I see no point in giving a link to contributions and sandbox from a signature, since it is much more unlikely for people to visit these pages before they visit the other person's user page or talk page. So, people are much more likely to visit them from your user page or talk page.
Well, see you around anyways! User:Max 12/sig 21:51, 6 July 2011 (EDT)
That's a good idea! :) User:Cipriano/sig 22:28, 6 July 2011 (EDT)
Yeah, good thing. That seems helpful and informative enough.
I guess that is the case - the frequency of crash increasing tenfold. But all is well now, because I haven't been facing any new problem for the last two days.
While I'm here, I'll ask another unrelated question or two. In the page Stamp Station, is there really any need to keep the number column in the table with the stamps?
Also, wouldn't it be better if the images of the stamp were in their original sizes from the game instead of stretched to be made bigger? And while transparency can help in making things look better a lot of the times, I think a white background, or maybe the background being the page of the book the seals are in would be better, because they are otherwise tough to see. In this stamp picture for example, look at the previous revision that was uploaded by me. I think the white background makes the picture much more clear in this case, while in the transparent one things are unclear, blurry, and the eyes are pretty invisible.
Just wanted your opinion before I made a move, that's all. User:Max 12/sig 11:17, 7 July 2011 (EDT)
I hope you don't mind answering the Stamp part, I was the one who added the stamp field to the table. Each stamp is different in shape, color and motif, so the table now shows how each of them look like. The images were cropped from the Stamp Book page, where they were always transparent. It would be nice to show the book's pages where they're placed, if only someone could upload them,....--User:K2L/sig 11:26, 7 July 2011 (EDT)
I think you got me wrong K2L. By adding the images of the stamps in the table, you've done a great thing. What I was wondering was that, among the five columns in the table, what is the first column titled Number needed for?
Once again, you got a wrong sense out of my sentence. I know the images are from that page. I was just telling Cipriano how I thought non-transparent pictures would be better in this case. If I get some agreement to my suggestion, I will upload them myself. User:Max 12/sig 12:35, 7 July 2011 (EDT)
Most tables number the listed items, so I thought it would be ideal to do the same thing there. Sorry for the misreading, I stopped being the same after watching a two-episode anomaly of a show on Internet, and my focus is a bit affected, so I'll let Cip reply you for now =P. --User:K2L/sig 13:13, 7 July 2011 (EDT)
Sorry, Max12, I've been out for awhile. Preview Categories

You recently wrote this: "I'm still waiting until we can see category code in the Preview..." If you scroll down to the very bottom of the screen, you should see which categories the page is in. User:Abdullah/sig 09:18, 4 October 2011 (EDT)

Thanks Abdul, I overlooked that, again! Reminders are always nice. :) User:Cipriano/sig 23:51, 9 October 2011 (EDT)

WikiExclusive is back

Hello, it's me, back again. I just wanted to see if you would check over my heavily edited WikiExclusive. The link is on my NavBox.

Thanks, --Purlo's Grandfather {Talk||Contributions} 16:05, 7 October 2011 (EDT)

Zelda merch links

Excuse me, are you in charge of the Merchandise section of the wiki? If so, I have a link dump for you:

My apologies if some of them are already covered in the wiki. I'm busy saving data when it comes to Nintendo goodies at the moment for NintendoWiki! --RAP 14:01, 29 October 2011 (EDT)

Thanks again, RAP. You've got the eye for this sort of thing. And wow, some of those items are highly unique (i.e. the Wind Waker statue!). User:Cipriano/sig 23:55, 29 October 2011 (EDT)

Just introducing myself

The Goron Moron 15:07, 22 November 2011 (EST)

Haha, I just wanted to say welcome back GM! we look forward to seeing you around ZW and your contributions - it's always nice when an old contributor decides to come back :)User:Mandi/sig 01:45, 23 November 2011 (EST)

hi, i am from zelda wiki and i would like to ask you something: can i use the picture that you can find under the rubric "Gorons" and then "Gorko" on zeldawiki.org for private purposes? Template:Nosig

The question has been answered here. User:Abdullah/sig 09:11, 28 November 2011 (EST)

Um...

I'm sure you already know this but the when you write your signature the whole line goes wierd. Then if there is a line under that the sentences merge and what you and the other person wrote gets barely readable. Just thought i'd let you know. --Person777 16:07, 28 December 2011 (EST)

About this one user

Thank you. The Goron Moron 17:21, 4 January 2012 (EST)

Just a quick update, he still does not seem to be understanding what I'm getting at, and I fear that a revision/editing war is about to follow. I could really use some assistance here. The Goron Moron 17:29, 4 January 2012 (EST)
GM, make sure you do what you can to prevent an edit war, even if it means stopping replying/reverting. I'll figure out what's going on, and we'll find some sort of consensus soon. First, I'm going to be consolidating the discussion on one talk page. Thanks for coming to me about this. User:Cipriano/sig 17:37, 4 January 2012 (EST)

Timeline Theories Question

Even though the real Timeline has been revealed already, I'm I still aloud to to post mine with my progess in it or is the Timeline Theories page not accepting them anymore? --Vaati The Wind Demon 18:20, 10 January 2012 (EST)

Of course you can! Just make sure that you place your contribution in the correct area! User:Cipriano/sig 21:49, 10 January 2012 (EST)
Does my Timeline theory need to be in a form of writing or can I post an image of it and what part of Timeline page do I post it in? --[[User:Vaati The Wind

Demon|Vaati The Wind Demon]] 22:02, 10 January 2012 (EST)

Go to the Timeline Theories page and scroll down to the "Community poll" section. Decide if your theory falls into one of the categories, click on the category header that corresponds to your Timeline, and within that page make your section. You must have a written timeline but you are welcome to add pictures to enhance the explanation. User:Cipriano/sig 22:21, 10 January 2012 (EST)

Link page

If you see a page without its translation, send me a message and I will take a look. Have a nice evening my friend and see you around! Itachou 16:40, 13 January 2012 (EST)

Hey Itachou, thanks for being so understanding. It's nice to see someone from Wikia venture to an independent wiki and contribute! :) Even the way we talk on discussion/talk pages is different here - we keep everything on the same page so that anyone looking for information in a discussion in the future can find the entire conversation on one page! Thanks, and I'll see you about. :D User:Cipriano/sig 10:44, 17 January 2012 (EST)

Thanks for the Advice

Its me. Sorry for causing any problems if I did. I'm not 100% sure how everything is run around here. I'll try my best to not post theorys on the talk page. --Nathbuds123 10:48, 27 January 2012 (EST)

Hey Nathbuds, I hope I didn't discourage you! :)User:Cipriano/sig 12:09, 9 April 2012 (EDT)

WikiExclusive?

So at the suggestion of several other editors (including some admins) on my talk page, I'm considering taking some of the disorganized ramblings on my Thoughts page and making them into one or more WikiExclusives. Specifically, I'm thinking of doing a series of articles on the various incarnations of Link and what makes them distinctive, probably starting with the Link from Ocarina of Time. So, do you think this is a viable project, and do you have any advice for me? --Osteoderm Jacket 22:07, 1 April 2012 (EDT)

This sounds like an interesting idea for sure! User:Cipriano/sig 12:08, 9 April 2012 (EDT)

Hey, mah brutha!

Sooooo...Guess who came back to haunt ya? That's right...It's me! Your ol' pal J-dog. Come talk to me on Skype, because I've missed you, bro. I don't know if you're super active or not, but I still look forward to contributing with you at some point :P User:Justin/sig 05:20, 5 December 2012 (UTC)

Hey man! It's been forever; it's good to hear from you! Can't promise I'll be around all the time like I used to, but this place keeps drawing me back like a magnet, so I don't think I'll ever truly leave. The semester's over so I'm looking to get back to wiki work and jump back on Skype with you guys! User:Cipriano/sig 04:08, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
Yeah dude, we miss talking to you! User:Mandi/sig 04:25, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
Pretty funny, considering we were just talking about you earlier. Just so you know, my old Skype handle is gone forever. The new one is hero_of_lylat. I already sent you a contact request (but if it didn't show up, then it's because I'm using Skype through a website called imo. It's weird). Good to see you again!User:Justin/sig 04:44, 21 December 2012 (UTC)

WikiExclusive

Hello, I've been writing a WikiExclusive about my views on the various villains that have appeared throughout the Zelda series. I read the rules over and over on the WikiExclusive page. I was wondering if you could check it out in my sandbox and comment on what I could do to make it better on my talk page. Thanks! User:Darkness/sig 03:54, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
