A Link to the Past Manual Description

Smithy's Shop
The blacksmith lives just a little to the east of Kakariko Village. With his metal-working skill he can improve even the mighty Master Sword. However, he cannot do it himself, and his partner is now missing...

In A Link to the Past, the Smithery is located in Hyrule, between Hyrule Castle and Kakariko Village. When Link first arrives, he finds only one of the Dwarven Swordsmiths. As his partner has gone missing, he cannot help Link forge his Sword.[4] Once Link returns the missing Dwarven Swordsmith from the Dark World, they will temper the Master Sword into the Tempered Sword.[5]

A Link Between Worlds[]

In A Link Between Worlds, the Blacksmith's Forge can be found in both Hyrule and Lorule. Hyrule's forge is home to the Blacksmith, his wife, and their son Gulley. It is also the place of employment for Link.[6][7] The Forgotten Sword can be obtained in the Blacksmith's Forge at the beginning of the game.[8][9] Link can also upgrade the Master Sword in the forge upon collecting one of the two Master Ores. The Master Sword can be further upgraded at Lorule's Blacksmith's Forge after obtaining the second Master Ore.[10]

Notes

  1. The Blacksmith's Forge was referred to as the Smithy's Shop in the A Link to the Past manual.[3] However, as this contradicts the name given in Encyclopedia, it is not considered Canon.
