- This page is about regular Balloons. For other uses, see Balloon (Disambiguation).
Balloons are recurring objects and items in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2][name reference needed]
Location and Uses[]
Majora's Mask[]
A Balloon can be found in North Clock Town being shot at by Jim with a blowgun. Another appears in the Astral Observatory, blocking the ladder leading out of the sewers. It must be destroyed for Link to continue.
Breath of the Wild[]
Balloons appear as part of the Korok hunting quest. Link will come across pinwheels on his journey. Once he touches the pinwheels, balloons will appear, which he must shoot to make a Korok appear.
Tears of the Kingdom[]
Balloons appear as one of the Zonai Devices Link can acquire. They can be attached to objects to lift them off of the ground, and when a Flame Emitter is placed underneath it to provide heat Link can use it to build a hot air balloon as a means of air travel.
Other Appearances[]
Hyrule Warriors[]
The Balloon is a class of Weapon used by Tingle. It is associated with Fire.
Variations[]
The default Balloon is the Rosy Balloon. The second form of the Balloon is the Love Filled Balloon, followed by the Mr. Fairy Balloon.

Attack Combinations[]
Attack Pattern | Effect | |
---|---|---|
X | Tingle pops a balloon and generates a wind aura around himself. Pressing X will launch Tingle upwards. | |
Y X X X | Tingle slams his wallet on the ground, swings it like a golf club, and then inflates a balloon and launches himself in the air, floating slowly downwards while spinning around with a map. | |
Y Y X X X | Tingle launches himself erratically with a balloon, slamming into the ground. | |
Y Y Y X X X | Tingle launches himself forwards with a balloon, slamming a life-sized gold statue of himself. | |
Y Y Y Y X | Tingle inflates a balloon, launching himself airborne, and then tosses many bombs before detonating a final bomb. Occasionally, he will instead summon exploding Rupees. | |
Y Y Y Y Y | Tingle attacks with a rolled-up map, launches himself back-first, swings his wallet, spins around, and finally generates several small exploding balloons around himself. |
Special Attack[]
Tingle puts on a determined face and begins to pump up his Balloon. With an enthusiastic "Kooloo-limpah", it pops, damaging enemies nearby. This attack hits foes in a wide range around Tingle.
Trivia[]
- The Rosy Balloon's name may partially be a reference to Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland. Likewise, the Mr. Fairy Balloon resembles artwork from the game.
