Tingle is a thirty-five-year-old man who thinks he is a Fairy and first made his appearance in Majora's Mask. He wears green tights accented with red, and appears in various Legend of Zelda games to help out - usually in bizarre ways. His catchphrase is the supposedly magical word Kooloo-Limpa.

Appearances

Majora's Mask

Tingle's debut portrayed him as the eccentric, estranged son of the Southern Swamp Pictograph contest operator - obsessed with his dream of becoming a fairy. Suspended by a balloon in the air, he uses his vantage point to plot maps of Termina, which Link is able to purchase.

The Wind Waker

In this game, Tingle is called upon using an item called the Tingle Tuner to give Link various forms of help, such as the odd-but-fun hovering power-up called the Tingle Balloon. There are also many side quests involving one that gets you the "Used Tingle Tuner". Tingle also translates Triforce Charts for Link so Link can find the Triforce Shards, at a price of 398 rupees each. He is now obviously an important character, there is even a "Tingle Island" Southwest of Windfall in the game.

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures

In this game, he is seen more of a nuisance than ever. This is also the first time we see his true fascination of force gems. Throughout this entire game, anytime you come in eye contact with a huge force gem outside of dungeons, he will try to steal it as his own and keep it, unless you can shoot him down first. His look is similar to the Tingle in TWW.
