Faron, found in Twilight Princess, is the Spirit of Light who watches over the Faron Province, and has a form sharing similarities to monkeys or squirrels. He is the second spirit Link meets, and helps return the hero to his human form. The spirit then tells Link of the Twilight, the former hero (implied to be Link from Ocarina of Time), and the fact that he is the new hero, having been entrusted by the gods as such. His true form can be revealed after Link gathers 16 tears to fill the vessel of light.
