The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to dwudziesta gra z serii The Legend of Zelda oraz bezpośrednia kontynuacja Breath of the Wild. Gra została zapowiedziana przez Nintendo podczas E3 2019[1], a wydana została 12 maja 2023 roku.
Produkcja[]
Produkcja nad grą ruszyła w 2017 roku, zaraz po zakończeniu prac nad Breath of the Wild; pierwotnie miało to być jedynie DLC do wspomnianego tytułu, jednak projekt się rozrósł na tyle, że postanowiono stworzyć w oparciu na nim nową grę, mającą bezpośrednio kontynuować wątki poprzednika. Eiji Aonuma, główny pomysłodawca gry, chciał w oparciu o te samo Hyrule stworzyć kolejną historię i wprowadzić nowe mechaniki rozgrywki[2]. Zapytany o to, czy Zelda będzie grywalną postacią w nadchodzącej produkcji, Aonuma odmówił udzielenia odpowiedzi.
13 września 2022 roku Nintendo ogłosiło oficjalny tytuł gry[3].
