Even though both this move and the Spin Attack are iconic among fans of Link, some may hate me for this, but in the old 3D games (talking OOT, MM, and WW), when you look at many playthrough videos from users who played Zelda for a long time on YouTube or other social media, they often use the Jump Attack as their primary attack move instead of normal slashes against ANY enemy, especially bosses. I get that the move itself deals good damage and is easy to trigger, but they more often do it with the most powerful weapons and perform it over and over again. If you ask me, trying to kill enemies literally as fast as possible for views is a bit cowardly, unless maybe you're doing a speedrun championship. Seriously, The Legend of Zelda is not Dark Souls.
Now, I've played the series since the N64 days, and I pretty much do the opposite. I let bosses die slowly in those titles, but almost always doing the regular slashes with the Jump Attack being rarely used, and in the case of Ocarina of Time, use the weakest possible weapon, intentionally letting battle drag, often for fun. I don't know, maybe my style represents 15% of the fanbase, but yes, the Jump Attack is so overused, even more so than the Spin Attack.
