Windvane Meadow is a location in Breath of the Wild.[1]
Features and Overview[]
Windvane Meadow is located in Hyrule Field. A Road between the Hyrule Garrison Ruins and Mabe Village Ruins runs through the Meadow in the north and a crossroads between the Hyrule Garrison Ruins, the Exchange Ruins, and a Road east towards the Whistling Hill runs through the southern portion of the Meadow. During the second Great Calamity, Windvane Meadow was flooded with Guardians that eradicated all Hylian life in and around the Meadow. The remains of a Guardian can be found in the northern part of the Meadow, which can be searched for Ancient Materials. A Monster Stronghold can be found by the crossroads in the southeastern portion of the Meadow. Wooden Boxes and Barrels containing Apples, Arrows, and Hylian Shrooms can be found at this Encampment. This camp also features a lit Cooking Pot.
Windvane Meadow is the location where Calamity Ganon reforms into Dark Beast Ganon after being defeated in the Astral Observatory. To prevent Dark Beast Ganon from escaping and destroying Hyrule, Zelda summons Link to Windvane Meadow and erects a barrier of light to contain them both.[2] She also bestows Link with the Bow of Light to aid him in his quest to Destroy Ganon.[3]
A stone Treasure Chest containing a Soldier's Claymore can be found in the aforementioned Monster Stronghold. It can only be unlocked after defeating all of the monsters in the camp.
A Korok can be found by breaking the Jar shaped like an Acorn hanging from a broken wagon on the side of the northern Road that passes through the Meadow. Another Korok will appear after examining the Leaves with Fairy Dust moving around a small group of Trees in the east of the Meadow. Another Korok is can be found in a Natural Hiding Spot under a Rock in a rock formation, north of the Central Tower. A Korok can be revealed by breaking another Acorn shaped Jar hanging from a large Tree along the southern edge of the Meadow, north of Lake Kolomo. Following the Flower Trail that starts in the Meadow and leads west into a forest between the Meadow and the Exchange Ruins will reveal another Korok.
