Trial of Thunder
BotW Trial of Thunder
Quest Giver ???
Location Thundra Plateau
Reward Toh Yahsa Shrine

"Trial of Thunder" is a Shrine Quest in Breath of the Wild.[1]

Overview[]

When Link reaches the vicinity of the Thundra Plateau, he will hear the voice of Toh Yahsa, who offers him a trial.[2] He is instructed to return the "four spirits" to their proper places, which will reveal an Ancient Shrine to him.[3] After hearing this, the Shrine Quest will begin.

The Thundra Plateau is constantly subjected to a Thunderstorm. Around Plateau are four orbs of different colors, which Link must retrieve. The purple sphere sits near the north pillar on the ground. In addition, the green sphere sits atop the southern pillar. The red sphere is located on top of a stone statue east of the Plateau, while the orange sphere is atop a taller stone statue directly north of the plateau. Link can climb up to the spheres (though the rain works against this) or knock them down using Stasis and Arrows; Magnesis may also be used to levitate a metal object near the spheres and induce a lightning strike that will knock them down. By using Stasis, Link can knock the spheres up onto the Plateau with Weapons or Remote Bombs.

After gathering all four spheres on the Thundra Plateau, Link can place them in the basins below their matching pillars.[4] The purple spheres goes in the northern basin, the red sphere goes in the eastern basin, the green sphere goes in the southern basin, and the orange sphere goes in the western basin. Once all of the orbs have been matched, Toh Yahsa Shrine will emerge from the ground in the middle of the Plateau.[5] With this, the Shrine Quest will be completed.
