The Monya Toma Shrine,[1] designated by the Trial name Drawing Parabolas,[1] is an Ancient Shrine in Breath of the Wild.

Entrance to the Shrine[]

Monya Toma Shrine is located east of the Hilltop High Road on Salari Hill in Hyrule Field. Link is greeted by the Ancient Shrine's Monk, Monya Toma, as he enters.[2]

Themes and Navigation[]

Monya Toma Shrine consists of one large room. Directly in front of the entrance is an Ancient Orb, and its corresponding Concave Slot is located behind a closed portcullis. The rest of the room consists of three slanted Launchers. The third Launcher has a Crystal at its side, which can only be accessed by following the paths of the first and second Launchers. Hitting the Crystal will cause the Launcher's structure to move.

The second Launcher can be aimed towards the Concave Slot, though the path is blocked by four Wooden Boxes. These Boxes must be destroyed in order to progress. After correctly aligning the Launchers, Link can place the Ancient Orb on the first Launcher, which will sent it into the second and third Launchers. From there, it will be sent into the Concave Slot. Past the Slot is the Monk's Pedestal bearing Monya Toma.

When interacted with, Monya Toma will commend Link for overcoming the Ancient Shrine.[3] As a reward, the Monk grants Link a Spirit Orb.[4] After giving him the Spirit Orb, Monya Toma wishes Link well before fading away.[5]

A Treasure Chest can be found on the structure connected to the third Launcher. It can be accessed by turning the Treasure Chest towards the second Launcher using the Crystal, at which point Link can use the second Launcher to be sent towards it. Inside the Treasure Chest, Link will find a Thunderblade.
