The Goponga Village Ruins are a location in Breath of the Wild.[1]

Features and Overview[]

The Goponga Village Ruins are located on Goponga Island in the Lanayru Wetlands. It is located on three small islands in the Lanayru Wetlands, those being Zauz Island, Goponga Island, and Bannan Island. The Daka Tuss shrine can be found very close to here, on Shrine Island. These ruins are all that remain of Goponga Village, which was destroyed in the Great Calamity 100 years ago. It is possible that the inhabitants of Goponga Village evacuated to Kakariko Village or Hateno Village before the Guardians arrived.

The ruins are now home to an Electric Wizzrobe and a few Lizlfos. It is also possible to be ambushed by a Yiga Footsoilder here, provided that you have completed the Seek out Impa main quest. Several Rusty Broadswords and Rusty Claymores can also be found here. A Treasure Chest and several Wagons that can be searched for materials can be found here

Nomenclature[]

The Goponga Village Ruins derive their name from Goponga Swamp.
